Longer-lower

Sound is transmitted by the vibration of particles.Particles are more closely packed in solid state,thus the vibration of particles is better and allows sound to be transmitted faster.
Sound can be transmitted in gases,liquids and solids.
The reflection of sound against obstacles produces echoes.
