I liked how you took lots of videos which helped us feel like we were there. Your iceberg representation was very thoughtful, and comparing this to throwing the rock into the water was very cool. I feel like it's a very unique way to express personality and it shows the different depths of a person. I think this could be a good way for kids to express themselves as well. I also really liked your interpretive dance. That takes a lot of confidence to do in person instead of recording yourself, so good job!

I loved the painting that she made to show how the flow of water felt. I could clearly see how it felt to her and was able to transport myself into her shoes when she was feeling the water. Her short story was impressive. I thought it was an interesting way to document your experience and it is a form of artful documentation I hadn’t considered before.

He did seem quite nervous throughout the presentation; however, I believe that he was nervous because of the amazing interpretive dance he did at the end. My recommendation to him is to take a deep breath before presenting and to do his best to have more confidence in his own skills. Both presentation and dance skills.

Honestly, all of the connections you made with your childhood provided a lot of insightful context for your reflections.

Overall, I enjoyed Katrina's presentation. However, I do think it could have used some more colour or pictures as I found the consistent white background a little bland. Additionally, I recommend that she work on projecting her voice for future presentations, as I had a difficult time hearing her at certain points from the back of the room. I enjoyed the short story that she wrote about the twin trees and the poem that was written about a nature walk through the forest. I thought both were well done.

I enjoyed how you began with acknowledging the land we live on, and how the land you connect with most is from back home in Alberta. I don't like how you made Erin the bully of your story, kind of offensive but otherwise it was really well written!!! You seem comfortable and confident speaking in front of the class, and you easily flow from one topic to the next. The bug on the window poem was very cute and thoughtful, how you connected that with rain on the window watching life pass by.

I also think it's nice how you got propositions about water having come from a landlocked city. Your reflective walking kind of reminded me of erasure poetry. That was a very cool photo of the beach! the last stanza of your poem was my favourite! "smiling first day; tears from a breakup" so cute. The photos from step 4 were so cool, you have great photography skills!

Zoe McGrath

The colours chosen for the presentation were vibrant and reflective of the topic of water and playfulness. I also appreciate how you had multiple different forms of documentation, such as videos, photos, sound excerpts and journal entries. Talking about the endangered turtles shows the extra step you took when reflecting on these playful propositions. Reflecting on the emotions you felt and sharing that with us is very powerful! I, too, love making writing pieces, and I find that each of your stories evokes different emotions and provides thoughtful details.

Overall, I think Jadyn's presentation was well done. I liked the poems he wrote for his second proposition and his fourth proposition. I think he has a gift with poetry and it was wonderful to see it in his documentation. However, I think I would've also enjoyed hearing him read them out as well. At the start of the presentation, he seemed a little anxious, but I noticed he relaxed throughout and his speech became clearer by the end. I'd probably recommend doing some writing points on some note cards to help steer himself and keep him on track. His writing is beautiful so I believe it would help with nervousness and stumbling in the future.

I liked your presentation. I think the design you chose is fun and engaging. You were also very well-spoken and clear in your speech. In the future, I'd recommend writing your points or speech out onto note cards as reading off your phone can have a bad look. Your description of the propositions was good, and I enjoyed hearing your reflections. At times I noticed that you became a tad quieter. I'd recommend practicing your projection for future presentations so that it stays consistent throughout.

Doing that made me feel immersed in the presentation right away. Your speaking is very clear and at the perfect pace for me. The drawings are amazing and show the different types of reflecting you underwent. I like how this project led you to try something new, something you had desired to do. Your connection to the flow of water and the flow of life was thoughtful and impactful. I just have to say I feel that you took a very personal approach with this project and I found it very meaningful to me. Your sharing with us the memories that you hold, despite having grown apart from some people, was quite impactful in your presentation. Lastly your poem was very well written and enjoyable to read.

Your presentation is put together in a very eye-catching way while remaining neat and informative. The sound map is creative, and your use of colours to reflect the loudness was very impactful. While the drawings are a bit... jarring... your meaning behind each is insightful to the way the trees interact, and the personalities assigned to each tree make sense. Overall, your presentation was fantastic and engaging. You presented with ease and comfort. Great job!

Zoe:

I loved how deep your reflection was preceding your propositions. And I like that you included two similar propositions, but looked at them from different perspectives. LOVE your poem for proposition #2.

Daniel:

I like that you completed all your propositions in one walk. It really shows how much there is to appreciate about nature at once. Very good poem I liked how each stanza describes a different type of wind you heard. Very interpretive dance.

Jemma:

Your drawing was so amazing! I love how you considered your own culture in a new way. I like how deeply you thought of each proposition. the mind maps were very nice.

Mckenzie:

I really liked your photography and your reflection on the rain and the light. I also really like how well you relate your personal experiences to nature, and how you connect it to nostalgic moments in your childhood. Your poem had a nice flow and was very creative.

Meghan P:

I really liked your short story, and how you related the experience of nature and walking to experiences in relationships and friendships, and how they’re always evolving. I like your series of photos and how they capture the movement of water and its evolution and the impact that water makes on the beach.

Maeghan S:

I like how your art piece brings together many elements of nature and represents a whole ecosystem within a page. I like the way you described your experience in the rain.

Jadyn:

I like your poem describing the journey of water from the tap to the drain. I like the shapes and colors you chose.

Martin:

I really loved your personal story about what brought you to this moment, your appreciation for your parents, and clean drinking water. I like your reflection on childhood and nostalgia in your poem about the smell of the park.

Seyeon:

I liked your reflection on the rain and how even if your travel to other places, you can still be reminded of canada. I also like the way you relate the flow of water to the flow of life.

Matthew:

I liked your art piece and the way you used color to illustrate the intensity of the sounds you encountered, as well as your personnification of the elements of nature.

Mar 28

Sorry if it sounds like I'm saying the same thing for everyone.

For Zoe McGrath

Amazing. It is easy to see how much effort was put into each proposition. The many connections shows the depth of your reflection.

For Daniel Mendoza

The video clips were very nice. Being able to see what you saw made it easier to understand how you interpreted the propositions.

For Jemma Sangha

The pictures were great for seeing how you went about the propositions. The mind maps showed how much thought you put into each one.

For McKenzie Shera

The explanations of what you heard or felt for each proposition and the connections you made with them and nature were great.

For Erin Van Hoeke

Solid reflections for each proposition, with a lot of thought into each one.

For Katrina Herrera

Voice was a little low, however it was effective for forcing people to focus on what you were saying. I liked how you connected your experiences with each proposition.

For Meghan Pooley

There seems to be a strong theme of accepting nature as what it is for each of the propositions. Each reflection had some part that considers nature and its impact.

For Maeghan Sheridan

The documentation for each proposition was great. The reflections were better, especially the ones that involved your past memories.

For Gary

I liked the focus on the more ordinary parts of life, it isn't about some abstract understanding or rocket science. Just about simple things that are often overlooked.

For Sarah Webster

The art pieces were really cool. Especially the second piece with the pop up spirals for wind. I also like that how you compared what you saw when you run past an area versus walking past it.

For Martin Yang

I liked hearing about the process for each proposition. It was also interesting to hear how you felt about the interactions between nature and people. The bunny was obviously the best image.

For Seyeon Kim

I liked that the propositions let us see a part of your life and what you cherish. Connections between yourself, nature, and others (friends, family) were great.

For Matthew Steiner

I liked the photos. All the interactions you had with nature and the connections you drew from there were great too.

Zoe

You were very clear when you presented, and you provided great examples that were easy to follow. It was evident that you put a lot of thought into each of your propositions.

Daniel
I liked how you gave multiple examples of the areas that inspired your proposition. Showing three different spots and demonstrating your experiment with three different objects in the water was a great way to illustrate your ideas.

Jemma
You did a great job showing each step of your proposition. Your mind maps, and overall process were well presented. And your artwork was beautiful!

Mckenzie
You did well, but I would suggest slowing down your pace a bit. Overall, your presentation was clear, and I liked the way you used photos in your PowerPoint.

Erin
I liked how you incorporated a place you grew up visiting as a child into your proposition. Using personal memories adds depth and a stronger connection to your project.

Katrina
I like how you incorporated a childhood memory into your first proposition, as it adds another perspective and enhances the depth and meaning of your reflection. One suggestion for next time is to include your journal in PowerPoint so we can see your documentation even though you’ve given a debrief.

Maeghan Sheridan
I like how you used your reflection by creating a journal.
Jadyn
Next time, I would suggest using natural water instead of tap water for Proposition 2. Also, try to make your explanation of your propositions a bit clearer when presenting. You did a great job of drawing your third proposition!

Gery
I like how you incorporated parts of your week when you taught the class into your reflection on your propositions. It showed that you deeply understood the message of what we learned and what your group taught us.

Sarah Webster
I like your art piece because it is very colorful and effectively conveys the idea of your proposition.

Martin
For your fourth proposition, I really liked the poem you wrote—it was relatable as well. Next time, try to read less from your phone and make more eye contact with the group.

Seyeon
You did a great job of speaking clearly while discussing your PowerPoint. I liked the use of transitions throughout, as no one else had incorporated them yet. Also, your artwork was very cute!

Matthew
You did a great job explaining your steps and processes throughout your presentation. You communicated your ideas very clearly.

Zoe Mcgrath:

I love the poem that you did, it really put me into the setting of the forest

I also really enjoyed the part about really embracing your inner child.

Daniel:

I love the duck in your video 10/10 stole the show. I enjoyed how you connected art to your environment and real life emotions. And amazing dancing skills, I really felt the emotions that you put into the choreography.

Jemma:

I also love midmaps, they are super cool, I enjoyed the very journal style of your presentation. Also your amazing artists and your drawings are amazing. I think that really well refelcted the propositions that you were given

Erin:

I really like the analogies. Like the one walking the same path but in different environments can look super different. I also get super nostalgic when going to the beach.

Katrina:

I think your short story idea is super creative. It reminded me of the complexities of relationships. I also really liked your poem, overall I think that you are a super good writer, with some amazing original ideas.

Meghan:

I enjoyed your story and how the environment reflected the emotions that the characters were feeling. Also the photos in step 2 looked super cool. I think your thoughts of experiences and place and how an experience at a place can affect your feelings and thoughts toward a place can be affected. I think your art was super creative

Maeghan:

I think that your reflections were super in depth and super interesting to listen to. I love your turtles on the logs 10/10 better than I could ever do. I like the art piece that you created for proposition 3. It was super creative and a unique representation of your experiences.

Gary:

I enjoyed how you explained what you gained and what emotions you felt during these experiences. I enjoyed how your reflections allowed you to consider ordinary things that you might not normally consider

Sarah:

Your shadow and light art piece was super creative and a good representation of the balance of light and shadows. Why were you wearing shorts in winter goof. The spiral art piece looked super fun and I liked the self portrait. Water colours 10/10 look amazing.

Martin:

I appreciated your reflections on who moments in the past by other people have affected our lives. I also enjoyed the rhyming of the poem that you did. You also made an interesting observation that you made on the openness of people and the weather. I love the fact that you walked three hours to find a bunny.

Seyeon:

I appreciate the photos of the cats. I love the little sketches, they are super cute and creative representations of your personality and hobbies. I love the message that you gained that it is never too late to start a goal or dream that you have. The rhyming in your poem.

Matthew:

I love the colours that you used to represent sound in your sound art piece. I find it creative how you took one sense sound and placed it into sight. I find it super interesting how you personified the tree

From McKenzie
