Video + listening comprehension + discussion is definitely my favorite. Before I make my students watch the video, I always prepare pre-reading questions. I am preparing these questions in order for the students to have an idea about what to watch and to increase the students’ curiosity and keep their attention in the video. Sometimes they watch the video as a whole, sometimes piece by piece according to my purpose and I usually support it with while watching questions. Finally, I reinforce my activity with post watching questions.

Spiderweb is my most used activity in the classroom especially for a productive skills acitivities. I write the key words of the topic on the board and I ask them to say anything that comes to their mind related to the key word.. Then we group the words. After grouping, the student realizes that everything he is going to speak or write is actually written on the board. The only thing left for the student is to choose a few of the writings on the board and support it with a few extra sentences. I observe that this activity easily attracts even the most problematic student to the lesson.

My students and I have invented this quick way of peer assessment for orals and short talks. We call it the rapid T-feedback style in which each student presents a 2 minute persuasive talk about a theme or concept. This is followed by quick feedback by peers including one positive comment and one or two suggestions for improvement. It works well in the class and online. Mai
