         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello and welcome to this experiential approach to teaching research methods in the Era of Covid-19 short course. My name is <a href="https://www.southampton.ac.uk/education/postgraduate/research_students/dlc2g15.page">Debbie Collins</a> and I am a doctoral researcher looking at the teaching and learning of research methods online. I am also a researcher at <a href="http://www.natcen.ac.uk">NatCen Social Research</a>.<br>I first started teaching&nbsp; online back in April 2020. Since then I have taught numerous short courses online, on questionnaire design and web survey design. Having confidence in the software I use for my synchronous (live) courses was really important. I chose Zoom based on recommendations and experience from colleagues and have been happy with it.<br>I am keen to develop my teaching practice. I am hoping to learn more about experiential approaches and think more about how I might apply them in my own teaching. I am looking forward to meeting all of you as we embark on our learning journey together. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My name is <a href="https://profiles.sussex.ac.uk/p306034-emily-danvers">Emily Danvers</a> and I'm a lecturer in education.&nbsp;I am not currently teaching a methods course but I am supporting MA and PhD students through their research as they start to form methodological ideas and make choices over how to approach their data. My comfort zone is qualitative methodology inspired by post-foundational and feminist new-materialist thinking. I enjoy teaching online (mostly Zoom) and am about to begin leadership of the university PGCert where I'll be guiding others in this respect. Being on this course I hope to refresh my methodological expertise as well as be part of an online experience with new pedagogical ideas to inspire me.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hi everyone, <a href="https://www.southampton.ac.uk/education/about/staff/sel1d14.page">I'm Sarah Lewthwaite</a>, one of the course tutors, based in Education at Southampton. I'm a Future Leaders Fellow and Senior Research Fellow, leading a project on the teaching of digital accessibility. Prior to this, I was a Research Fellow for 5 years at NCRM, on the Pedagogy of Methodological Learning study (link below), later working on studies on methods textbooks and teaching 'Big Qual' methods. I've taught qualitative video methods, bricolage and accessible digital social research. I also have expertise in inclusive, pedagogic and social media research.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I'm Michelle Holmes. I am a Lecturer in Research Methods at AECC University College in Bournemouth. I teach research methods to a variety of pre-registration and postgraduate healthcare students (at all levels, from Level 3 to Level 7). I began lecturing in 2016 and have been solely teaching online since August 2020, using platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Moodle and ISpring. I learnt a lot from the first two courses in this series, and I'm looking forward to this course to develop new ideas and skills in teaching online.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My name is Rossana Perez del Aguila. I have been&nbsp; teaching Research Methods with Children and Young People at the Open University&nbsp; (OU) since&nbsp; 2004. I have taught this module using a  blended approach&nbsp; but&nbsp; during the pandemic&nbsp; the teaching has been online only. I&nbsp; taught&nbsp; research methods modules in&nbsp; Education from Level 4 to Level 8 (face to face) . In my current role (Lecturer and Staff Tutor at the OU), I am involved in the development of the new Social Research Methods module for Sociology and Criminology students in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Global Studies. The module will start in October 2021 and I will be managing a group of associate lectures teaching the module across the UK. I also supervise doctoral students in Education.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Hello I&#39;m Christina Silver, I manage the CAQDAS Networking Project (Sociology dept. Uni of Surrey) and teach computer-assisted qualitative and mixed methods - at a range of levels but inside academia usually to postgrads and researchers. I&#39;ve been doing that for a long time but never had any formal training to teach so enjoying this series of courses to take the time to reflect more on my practice and discuss/learn from others.  </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I'm Rebecca Taylor. I'm a lecturer in Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Southampton. I teach (for the past 5 years) qualitative research  methods and modules that prep students for research projects/dissertations (UG and PG) - amongst other things!. All this teaching has been moved online since April 2020 and I'm keen to learn some new strategies even if we are now being encouraged to go back to 'normal'. We are also in the process of programme revalidation and there is a chance to remodel our UG methods teaching so i'm looking for inspiration.</div>]]></description>
