Why do you think the Sahaba were initially not permitted to write down the Quran?

Whole class task:Muhammad never intended for the Quran to be written down, there was just no need for it. The Arabs had a long tradition of memorizing poetry and literature through so there was no need for compiling it down in written form at that time.

The Prophet PBUH was illiterate, so he had to spend time with Jibreel AS, to learn and understand the Quran. Additionally, the Hadith were recorded during the time of Prophet PBUH, which meant that the Quran was not compiled to avoid misunderstandings and confusion. If the Quran was published as a mus’haf, the sahabah would not have taken time to understand the Prophet’s PBUH application of verses. Furthermore, the Quran was revealed piecemeal, to ensure that the sahabah do not get confused or get intimated by Islam.
