I, Edward Justin Santoso who are a part of the 11th grader must partake in the Serviam project. In my Serviam Project we choose TK Karitas 3 Surabaya located in Simpang Darmo Permai complex as our host school. During the project, I had a group with my friends : Riel, Vannesa, Clara and Ikei all from the same class as I am. I felt happy as i had teamed up with Riel and clara for the first time as i had teamed up with the most of my class previously on other project.

Before the project my group  was informed by TK Karitas that we have to make the teaching around Insects and Sea creatures. It was really akward the first time because we didn't know about kids that well. But we tried our best and prepared some program. During my time there the program did not always work out as some programs failed to be showcased as there had been inconveniences like a program was longer than its planned duration and some miscommunication.

In day 1, we had a miscommunication about the exercise we were supposed to be done daily in the very first hour. But because we wasn't ready,we forgot to tell the teachers they could lead the exercise. In the end we choose to make a emergency exercise. Other than that, it was really awkward at first because we didn't know eachother but thanks to the teachers help we succesfully introduce introduce ourself and started the program. We started with a teaching about the insect and gave a games about what the insect sound like also riddle about which animals count as an insect. They were really enthusiastic about it. Now that they have learned we gave them an assignment where they have to get 100% on so we make sure everyone understand and move on to the next topic.

Day 2 was not that eventfull as they had 2 extracurricular and we nearly had no time, but we did start the teaching abit about sea creatures and do the daily exercise.

Day 3 was the best day as it started with an exercise where everyone was able to do and very motivated , then we had them go do their extracurricular while me and my team started hiding sea creature puzzle piece that they have to do later on. When they came back we told them about the puzzle and they started to find it. Some tried to check below the teacher's desk and their meal bag which we alr told doesn't count as a place to hide. In the end they did succesfully find it and to celebrate we had cookies which they color themself.

And then we end the Serviam Project with a magazine wall filled with their hand and ours.

Throughout my time there I learned how it feels to be a teacher, it has some fun moments like the time I baked donuts with them and unpleasant moments like them screaming louder of excitement because of the toys or myself not being able to understand their intention on some acts. 

Through the journey I learned a valuable lesson to be patient and try to see things from another perspective as what might be easy for me is hard for others. I have also learned to respect and treat people right without anything in return.

That fruit is watermelon and it takes the appearance of cube. It is most commonly found in japan and is priced around $200. It is very pricey because it is meant for both fashionable and wealthy customer. It is also in order to retain the shape the watermelon needs to be harvested before they are ripe making it inedible. I think that this inedible watermelon is contributing to wastefull consumption and humans are abusing the watermelon which is an living being since they are restricting its growth for aesthetics.Despite the cost and just a decoration fruit, it remains one of the japanese favourite gift for holiday or special occasion.
