In all the western allies had delivered 2.3 million tons of food and supplies to West Berlin during that time.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>RDS-220, also known as "Big Ivan" to the Soviets and "Tzar Bomba" to the US, was the biggest atomic bomb ever made. It was designed to be a 100-megaton hydrogen bomb, but when it was tested, its yield dropped by half. On October 30, 1961, the bomb was dropped from an altitude of 34,000 feet above the test site on the island of NovayaZemlya.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Titan ll could be launched in 58 sec from its underground base, it carried W-53  warhead and there was a yield of 9 megatons 9,000,000,000 tons of TNT.</p><p>The missile was 103 feet tall and 10 feet in diameter.</p><p>5,500 miles was the range of the Titan ll, there were 54 Titans deployed in groups of eighteen. In 1963 all 54 missiles were on alert during December. </p>]]></description>
