It started from Indian troops who were in service under the the British East India Company. The rebellion began when they refused to use the new rifles because they suspected that it contained animal products (pig/cow) and it was against their religion.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In - The land in Africa was rich in oils and minerals and had many resources that the Europeans took.  The United states, Russia, and Japan expanded their land holdings by conquering and settling neighboring territories.</p><p>S/C - New hierarchy systems were created and chattel slavery was introduced to the country. </p><p>P - Political – Some states that had existing colonies, strengthened their control over those colonies and in some cases assumed direct control over colonies previously held by non-state rule. Many European states used both warfare and diplomacy to expand their empires in Africa.. Increasing questions about political authority, and growing nationalism contributed to anticolonial movements.</p><p>E - Lots of cities were poor but Europe had introduced new infrastructures to Africa helping with the building of cities.</p><p>T - European powers introduced new technologies often at the expense of african autonomy and traditional ways of life</p>]]></description>
