Kamran Riaz is an associate professor of ophthalmology at the Dean McGee Eye Institute. He achieved several notable feats in this role. In March 2021, Kamran Riaz was featured in Oklahoma Magazine’s 2021 edition of the “40 Under 40” that are effecting change through professional work and service to their respective communities.

Similarly, Kamran Riaz has been the journal record’s “Achievers Under 40-Class XVIII,” an award that recognizes 40 individuals under the age of 40 for their professional contributions to society. He also received the 2022 and 2023 editions of the “Top Doctors List.” The award was given by the Oklahoma-based 405 magazine in recognition of his contribution to medical practice in Oklahoma.

In 2022, he received the Aesculapian Teaching Award from the Oklahoma University College of Medicine, acknowledging him and other faculty members who have contributed significantly to teaching medical students within a specific year. He is the first ophthalmologist to receive this award since 1962.
