GMO's are food/crops that have been modified using genetic engineering. These could mean GMO strawberries that can resist colder temperatures to pesticide/pathogen resistant crops.

PROS:
- There are no greater health risks of GMO's as apposed to conventional food
- GMO's that are resistant to disease can prevent wipeout of crops
- GMO's injected with various substances can actually be MORE health beneficial than conventional food

CONS:
- The public is more likely to perceive GMO's as unsafe
- Potential violation of intellectual property rights

Genetic therapy is the injection of various nucleic acids into a patients cells intended as a beneficial health effort.

PROS:
- Single gene diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, and hemophilia can be cured with the treatment/removal of the deficient protein
- Although (as of 2017) editing of the human genome is years away from becoming practical medicine, in the future, many abnormalities such as cancer and other viral diseases could potentially be wiped out

CONS:
- An immune response to foreign substance in one's body can cause one's body to violently reject and attack the substance, which can be a potentially fatal response
- Viral vectors are difficult to control
- Multigene disorders can complicate progress
- As of now this kind of care is very, very expensive

Bioremediation is the application of biological agents (plants, fungi, but usually bacteria) that are natural or GMO's to decontaminate polluted sites.
PROS:
- Certain bacteria can break down radioactive waste that would've otherwise been detrimental to their environments
- Oil spills can be cleaned up
- Very cost effective
- With bioremediation you waste management is still possible in areas currently unsafe for human interference

CONS:
- Public distrust of using "germs" (bacteria) to manage waste
- Certain types of agents can spread rapidly and get out of control

Biomarkers are biological agents used as indicators of an environment's condition. These can be tested during clinical trials, as subjects usually shed certain types of DNA upon the presence of a certain substance

PROS:
- Can be used to examine an organisms potential tolerance to a threat (physical, chemical)
- Certain biomarkers present can indicate the presence of a major threat
Example: antibodies present in the bloodstream indicate an infection

CONS:
- Certain biomarkers can be subject to ethical concerns especially when exposed to harmful agents
Example: intentionally placing mice (the biomarker) in a harmful environment to test the mice's resistance is/can be considered unethical but IS an undoubted essential to the processes in a clinical trial

Bioweapons (or, Biological Warfare)

Bioweapons are biological (usually infectious) agents used to kill or incapacitate humans, potentially as an act of war. Usually fast replicating agents that are intentionally meant to harm a person or multiple people.
Example: Unit 731 of the Imperial Japanese Army in the second world war was a research center for biological and chemical weapons. Run by Shiro Ishii, the facility took Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Australian POW, held them against their will, and forced them to undergo lethal human experimentation i.e, torture in the name of science (similar to human experimentation in Nazi concentration camps, although those were not necessarily biological and chemical research facilities).

DISCLAIMER ; Lol Mrs. Wantz before you call me a psycho or whatever for stating the pros know I don't agree with the use of any kind of weapon of mass destruction and I'm looking at the pros list from a purely pragmatic point of view. Thanks haha

PROS:
- Cost effective
- Job increase
- Highly efficient in taking out enemy resistance because they are so infectious and lethal

CONS:
- Ethical issues arise with the sheer lethality of these weapons
- Bioweapons are very unpredictable and can kill not only civilians, but potentially spread to the team using them as the offensive
- Classified as a WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction) which, by definition, can cause severe damage to structures and buildings, but also lead to the cataclysmic loss of human life as well as all other forms of life
- Can be used as forms of terrorism
- Legal issues in regards to amendments/extensions of the Geneva Protocol
