It is a page dedicated to sewing and the reuse of textiles through upcycling, I have been working on that page since October last year. When I started this course I decided to inform myself in order to give it a new perspective, teach about fashion sustainability and communicate the problem. Uruguay is in a growing movement of the fashion business and before reaching a crazy consumption, we need to communicate to people how to do it, for their sake and that of the planet. My daily manifesto will be my blog, where I will teach my knowledge about pollution and sustainability and where I will continue to teach the technique of upcycling and sewing to reduce excess consumption.

I will encourage and educate family and friends about fashion sustainability.

I will:  

• Creating and developing innovative and sustainable fashion products and acting as a key innovation player, in collaboration with R&D office to develop long term-oriented strategies and sustainable products to reach consumers according to the brand DNA and market specificities but respecting not just the stakeholders profit request but to save guard nature and human rights. 
 • train other professionals in fashion to design and develop sustainable, high quality and easier to recycle products for a circular economy 
 • work on a more and more transparent supply chain together with my suppliers 
 • work on a care-guideline for my products to guarantee a long product life and less environmental impact during their lifecycle. 
 • develop a small teaching program for schools to teach children how to recycle, upcycle and to care for their clothes and to become conscious consumers 

WE altogether:

aim to empower a BRAND NEW deep MINDFUL global CONSCIOUSNESS of SUSTAINABILITY for a better understanding of innovative sustainable raw materials and human rights.

We will create emotional real ad campaigns, developing an important educational role. The whole public opinion regardless of their age or social class in collaboration with international universities, will be informed about WHAT we could do with fashion products we own already and HOW we have to act when we buy new fashion products starting by (for example), purchasing only from Sustainability Leaders Companies.

There will be proactive actions/investments financed (also) by private charity associations for:

- University Master Programs

- Organic industrial chemistry 

- Modern day slavery

Three actions: 
I will source and buy smartly, putting into priority circular economy 
I will reward conscious consumers 
I will promote a new consumerism (which is actually going back to our grandmas way of seing clothes made to last a lifetime) 
Single statement: I will review the economic model based on "cheap but disposable" to "better quality and made to last" garment. Transparency and consciousness must be attained on both sides of the fashion supply chain.

1. Reduce the production and consumption of fashion (textiles, slow fashion, second-hand/pre-loved) 
2. Promote the value of cultural items (hand-made, airlooms, ) and protect culture and heritage (cultural designs, methods of production)

Achievable actions 
1. I will begin by reducing my own consumption of fashion and show greater appreciation to the clothes I own.

3. I will invest in cultural products and honour the cultural products and heritages of all communities 
4. I will collaborate with like-minded professionals to promote cultural products and slow fashion 
5. I will collaborate with like-minded professionals to educate consumers of fashion to revise their consumption habits

1. I will continue to reduce my consumption of fashion and appreciate the clothes I already have. 
2. I will continue to buy secondhand and consciously support "Made in Africa" brands by investing in them first before considering international brands should I need to buy anything new. 
3. I will encourage people to ask questions about where and how their clothing is made and continue to share techniques on how to become a conscious consumer.

As one who seeks beauty, I understand the power of fashion to communicate the urgent and critical realities of human inequality and climate change.

I will put the spotlight on relationships in fashion and the focus on issues related to achieving a sustainable world by pursuing collaboration with like-minded people especially  Indigenous Australian women to create and present models that disrupt the status quo.

Some 65,000 years ago Indigenous Australians walked this same path, I will look for opportunities to gain greater understanding of the wisdom of Indigenous Australians and acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, Australia’s first people.

1. Buy only what it´s needed, reducing the options in the wardrobe. 
2. buying sustaiable items and try to avoind fast fashion chains. 
3. Spread the word & educate via social media and in your closer circle among your peers.

Now on I will choose smartly what to wear to make sure that it’s align with my style and to the environment. 

Actions: 

1) Showing what can be re-used, if everybody returns the items to the store 

2) Empowering messages on websites to shop carefully and always when buying something new to return something old for recycling 

3) Showing on shop displays how many people have recycled so far. Creating a social share button to tagg the recycling accounts of fashion brands (like Old-Celine). People can than post their new outfit but outlining that they first returned something for recycling. 

Single statement: “From now on we will only sell if people return old items for recycling, as we want people to become aware of the fact that the footprint they leave behind has to be”.

GOAL: For more consumers to stop and consider what they are buying and to buy less and donate more.

“The Most sustainable garment is one you already Own!” This quote was the starting point of my manifesto, I was shocked to learn that 73% of the worlds clothing eventually ends up in Landfill and I believe that needs to change.

Change starts with us - Therefore from this day forward I will consciously commit to buying less and to throughly consider items by stopping to think about the effects it has had on the environment and will advocate to others to do the same. I will actively encourage the donation and recycling of clothes and I’ll inspire creativity while being creative myself and striving to learn innovative up-cycling techniques and new purposes for textiles and give as many garments as I can another life!

-The life I have and being able to live it with freedom. 

-The health and the personality I have which takes me to where  I´m now and continues to challenge myself to find new roads.
