Politics in the late 1800's would be shaped about the recently "freed" slaves. If they were going to be given the same citizenship as a white man would have or being freed but having the same rights as they were slaves or sending them all on a ship back to Africa. The abolitionists and Democrats would still have vastly different ideas on what to do with the black people. Would they be allowed to have property and normal jobs and get payed the same as a white man or would they end up having a life full of segregation and having a long fight (100 years long) on getting civil rights?

The Civil War would have a huge impact on politics in the late 1800's by making new political issues and concerns. If the North were to win, the country would be focused on the rights and abilities a black person would have in the American society. If the South were to win, the two different countries would have different political concerns. The South would mostly be focused on the new economy and government, while the North would be more focused on trying to prevent the South from succeeding as a country.

The South is now a part of the US again and the north and south could come together and work as one nation instead of being divided.

The Civil war will impact the the politics in the late 1800s by changing the laws on land and slavery. They would turn their focus on should slaves be able to become free or should they continue to work. They would also make it a priority to have all states become one instead of dividing by north and south.

The Civil War will shape politics in the late 1800's because the war and country had shifted from focusing on the Union gaining back the Confederacy which had seceded to the Union abolishing slavery (while the Confederacy tried to save it) which ties to the views of the anti-slavery Republican and pro-slavery Democratic parties (which eventually switch). Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation (an executive order issued to encourage the abolishment of slavery) was one of the main factors that made the war's transition.

I think The Civil War will shape politics the late 1800's because before the war the political parties were important becasue it determined who was going to vote for what candidate. People who were apart of the confederacy their party will be looked down upon by the north who were apart of the union and they had away more numbers of people on their side.
Also now that the slaves are gone the 2/3 vote that count for slaves are gone becasue there isn't any slaves any more to vote for an ex confederate politician.

The Civil War will shape politics in the late 1800's by going in the direction of having freed the slaves. At this point politics need to decipher what laws should be made for slaves and what rights they will have. The county would be more focused on deciding whether or not the "free" slaves will get the same rights as the American white male. This may come with some type of conflict with the slave owners.

The country will be focused on how people should be treated and viewed, specifically former slaves. There will still be people who believe they should be treated as property and less than while there will be people who advocate for them and will be fighting for equality amongst everyone.

The Civil War will make politics in the late 1800s very polarized between the North and the South. Northern politicians will fight to help the newly freed slaves become integrated into society with more rights and the Southern politicians will fight against those rights and try to take away the freedom that the slaves had gained. Politicians will be focused on these rights because even though the Civil War and slavery ended, there was still tension over slavery.
