         <description><![CDATA[<div>'<em>Students should be able to perform appropriate actions relating to the themes of travelling, balance, weight transference, symmetry and asymmetry.</em>' <br><br><strong>Todays theme:</strong></div><ul><li>BALANCE</li></ul><div><br><strong>Step 1:</strong> - <strong>In pairs take the following Quiz.</strong> Alternate between who asks &amp; who is responding to questions.<br><strong><em>Safety Quiz:</em></strong><br>- Have I warmed up?<br>- Is my mat in big enough space?<br>- Are my clothes ok? Have I removed my socks &amp; jewelry?<br>- Do I need to tie up my hair?<br><br><strong>Step 2: In pairs, Think-Pair-Share task today's</strong><br><strong> Theme: Balance</strong><br>-What are the 2 categories? Can you describe them?<br>- Is balance an individual or group movement? Discuss<br><strong> <br>Step 3: In pairs read through the teaching points below. Pair-teach this balance with points below - one person acting as the teacher, partner acting as student. <br>Reflect on the cues with partner <br>- are they clear?<br>- could you perform the balance?<br>- do any teaching points need alteration?<br>1. 'Static Balance.' </strong><br>- Teaching points for Balance<br>1. Support leg still, with foot flat on the ground. <br>2. Trunk stable and upright. <br>3. Non-support leg bent and not touching the support leg. <br>4. Head stable and eyes focused forward on a target.<br>Cue: "Pick a spot on the wall" <br>5 Arms as still as possible with no excessive movement. <br><br><strong>Complete</strong> <strong>TASK 1: </strong>With partner <strong>attempt to perform these balance &amp; shapes</strong>. On each movement consider <strong>how many 'points' </strong>are associated with each <strong>balance &amp; shapes. <br>-</strong> How many of these static balances you can perform? <br>- How many points does each balance have?</div>]]></description>
