         <description><![CDATA[<div>Quality of a research comes with a good decision on Measurement. The backbone of analysis is data .Hence, it can be said that no question can be answered without the data. In research, there are many different methods of data collection which may vary in degree of structure, quantifiability, researcher obtrusiveness, and objectivity.<br><br>Highly structured methods are preferable when a specific, non-exploratory research question is being asked. Measurement of all of the variables should also be quantifiable . However it cannot be denied that some variables are inherently more quantifiable than others. . Obtrusiveness of the research protocol can impact the quality of the data obtained.&nbsp; Measurement techniques also can also vary in degree of objectivity. Objectivity is the degree to which a measurement is directly observable, without influence of opinions, emotions, or bias, regardless of who is making the observation.&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;Biophysiologic measures, self-reporting, and direct observation are three common methods used to collect data for investigations<br><br>Biophysiologic measures, self-reporting, and direct observation are the common methods used to collect data for investigation.&nbsp; The most common in health care research and tends to increase technological nature of healthcare is Biophysiologic measures. On the other hand, self-report data can be in the form of diaries, interviews or completion of a list of written or verbal questions and it can be used to measures attitudes, psychological tendencies and behaviors. Further, observation method can be recorded via audio or video tape and is used if the researcher want to analyze episodes for variables of interests. These methods vary in terms of their structure, quantifiability, research obtrusiveness and objectivity. <br><br>Moreover,  it can be noted that there are lots of issues and concerns which may affect the quality of research. This includes using of existing scale, which may not measure the variable of interest, considering the difficulty to prove the validity of the tool as well. Indeed, inaccuracies in measurement can nullify the study. But, there are steps and process that can be taken to lessen the mistakes, while acknowledging the fact that not all errors can be removed or eliminated.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;Good decisions relative to data elements and the method selected for their measure are essential in ensuring a quality research/study. I definitely agree on this. Data collection which is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest must use accurate tools. It must be noted that any measurement or score obtained in a study always consists of two theoretical elements: the true value and “error.” Most measurements should be assumed to contain a certain degree of “error” in measurement. Although not all sources of error can be entirely eliminated, an attempt should be made to minimize them whenever possible. &nbsp; </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>...as a Teacher<br><br></strong>Measurement in education has helped me to (1)&nbsp; identify my students’ ability, skills,&nbsp; achievement, or interests, (2) assess or evaluate my&nbsp; students progress toward specific educational goals or competencies and (3) improving the teaching and learning process. This is closely related to the concepts of testing, assessment, and evaluation.<br><br><strong>...as a Researcher<br><br></strong>It is important to understand the issues on measurement to be able&nbsp; to&nbsp; consider how the variables of interest will be measured  in research. The level of measurement determines the type of statistical analysis that can be conducted, and, therefore, the type of conclusions that can be drawn from the research.</div>]]></description>
