If you go to the back of the book, there is a list of passengers that were on the Titanic. The ones that were saved are written in italics. I thought this was very useful to refer to as I was reading. I loved this book for many reasons. One, as I was reading it, I really felt like I had been there the night the Titanic sank. The author includes elements of excitement, suspense, and terror, which really set the mood of that night. The characters are well described to fit the time period that they are in which is 1912. The author tells what the characters wear and some things were strange. I thought it was interesting to find out what people wore back then. For example, the author said that some men dressed in their Sunday best and refused to wear life vests. DraperDarkness Before Dawn is a romance and fantasy novelDarkness Before Dawn takes place in a beat up town that is trying to survive after a war with the vampires on the other side of the wall thats protecting the humans from the vampires from killing/turning them into a vampire .My favorite character is Dawn Montgomery she is a teen and because she is her cities last hope of protection against the vampires on the other side of the wall and on the inside of the wall . Her parents died when she was young and her brother died when she was around 7.She then later is asked(More forced) to be delegent by Valentine (he is the head of all vampires )after her parents die . It is set in a secret school for 'Exceptional Young Women', but by that, they mean a school for female spies. They learn 14 different languages and are educated on things like how to kill a man with a single stick of uncooked spaghetti. But Cameron Morgan isn't exactly like the other students, she is the principals daughter. But this doesn't mean she's treated any different. I felt I could relate to Cammie's life in ways, she is always trying to slightly bend the rules and find freedom. Although the slightly gruesome title, it is my favourite read on romance, mystery and adventure. The characters are McKinley (dog) Jack (Human male child) and Lupin (wolf). Those are the main characters but there are a lot more. The problem is Lupin’s pack is dying out so she comes to McKinley’s town to recruit dogs to build up her pack. But the humans notice her and go hunting for her. The humans are scared of Lupin so they want to kill her. Jack and McKinley try to help Lupin mostly McKinley though because Jack still has to go to school throughout the whole book. When Lupin gets trapped Its up to McKinley to help her! I thought this book kinda keeps you on edge. It is a little plain in one chapter but otherwise I think this is a great book. This book would be good for 4th-7th grade because its full of adventure.
