The skills required in young people today include empathy, confidence and the ability to make a classroom a safe space.

The major change I want to bring in the education system is the grading system being only academically focused.

If I can consider one more change then adapting to newer methods of teaching and moving towards student centric modes of learning would be another change.

The skills I want my students to have our empathy, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. All these are relevant to the world we live in and this would help them to be responsible citizens of their country and the world.

They need empathy to connect, the resilience to handle setbacks, and the emotional intelligence - tolerance, patience and being open minded to different opinions to navigate relationships with themselves and with the people around themselves.

We need to stop measuring intelligence by marks. Learning should be about curiosity, not fear of failure. And other than understanding diverse learning needs and not applying cookie cutter methods while teaching kids.

These young must develop problem solving skills, vocational skills, logical thinking and application skills

I think the education system must focus more on application of the knowledge rather than just rotte learning..... imbibe new vocational skills and their real life application

The skills that I feel necessary in the young man today are communication, consciousness, creativity.

I believe that our education system is still stuck in the teacher centric mode instead of being student centric, particularly in the rural areas. This has to change ASAP.
