“Throughput the 1920s, the Nazis used force to try to seize control of the German government. When their efforts became too violent, Hitler was sent to prison. There he wrote “Mein Kampf” (“My Struggle”), in which he outlined his plans fo the Nazi Party.” -chapter 1, pages 3-4

In this passage, the author is giving background information on the Nazi Party. She talks about how Hitler, while in prison, wrote a book describing how horrible for him it was serving his time. This was what compelled me to pick this passage as a book snap; the irony of it made me laugh a little. He realizes that prison is awful, yet he carries on his plan to keep thousands upon thousands of Jews in a prison with worse conditions?
