I recommend that middle school students read the book "House Arrest" by K.A. Holt. I think they would enjoy this book since it is about a middle-school aged boy who makes the wrong choices for the right reasons. It offers an interesting perspective and presents it in an interesting way. The entire book is written as free-verse poetry and challenges the reader to think about the story in a more meaningful way since it is not written in a traditional fashion. The poetry format forces the reader to read more slowly and thoughtfully in order to understand the message the author is trying to convey. It's definitely worth a read and makes you think about the role of love and sacrifice in a family.

You have a lot of books to read in the series and you wont run out of books for a while. I also recommend the Theodore Boone series. It is like a mystery series with different topics but they each follow another big mystery. Wings of fire keeps you wanting to read and keep reading to get to the parts that was hinted at. Theodore Boone has laws and a very educational book in a fun way. I reccomend wings of fire for readers who love fantasy and who keeps wanting books. Also more books are coming out. Wings of fire is my favorite series and any book in it is action packed and a great series.

Five Feet Apart is one of the best books I have ever read. This book is about two teenagers who diagnosed with CF , or cystic fibrosis fall in love. Unfortunately, due to CF they cannot touch, hug, or even be closer than 6 feet from each other. As they continue talking over face time and texting, they become extremely close within an incredibly short time. As they continue using there medications so they get better, the doctors make them aware that their lungs are not working and their lung quality is at 30%. Therefore they both need new lungs. After one of them got new lungs, the other decided it would be best if they stop talking, because they loved each other but they couldn’t get married or even kiss because of this unfortunate disease, However, both were sad and devastated., they still held each other in their heart.

The Might Heart of Sunny St. James

A book I would recommend to others is The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James. I would recommend this book to other classmates because it’s about this girl who has had a heart transplant, and she plans to accomplish several thing in her new life, with her new heart. She also has a mom that left her at a very young age, and she goes through internal conflicts whether she should forgive her own mother. She goes through lots of obstacles and conflicts trying to accomplish these goals, with family, friends, and even her past memories. Some are embarrassing, and some a memorable, so she goes on a journey with her “new life”. Sunny is a very internal person, so the author really makes you feel what Sunny is feeling, and you really feel interacted and connected with the characters. It is also a emotional book and certainly changes your mood from time to time.

I recommend reading Throne of Glass. I have seen no series that is completely incredible from start to end, but this one has broken that standard. I found myself glued to this book from start to finish and it was truly my favorite book I’ve ever read. The interesting characters such as Chaol and Ansel of Briarcliff make the story all the more interesting, and their interactions with our ridiculously powerful protagonist Celaena, express both sides of her incredible character perfectly. I would HIGHLY recommend reading the series if you like fantasy.

This book I would defiantly recommend for many reasons. This book is about two stories one being an 11 year old boy running away to safety. His name is Salva. Salva is escaping from his village because of the war between the rebels and the government. This is a true story and covers over 6 years of Salva's life. This is taken place in 1985 in South Sudan. The second story is about a girl named Nya. Her story is about her and her family's journey to find clean water and a healthy life. Her story is set in 2008 in South Sudan. If the seventh graders from last year enjoyed Refugee you'll probably enjoy this book as well.

My favorite part about this book series is how the author makes it feel like a secret wizard society really exists. The series is meant for any age, which I appreciate. I remember some of my friends reading the series in second grade. J.K.

I recommend my peers, specifically the girls, to read “Brave Not Perfect”. This book I started towards the end of summer and just finished, it is a quick and easy read but has a great message. The book is from the author’s perspective on how girls have been trained to constantly worry about being perfect since they were basically born, while boys are pressured to be brave and take risks. The author is also the CEO of “Girls Who Code”, which has helped many girls around the country take more risks and learn to code. This book really changed my perspective on gender roles and how they are so cultivated by parents and society. I recommend this book because it made me more confident and it also made me more aware on how scared most girls are day to day, and I hope that it does the same to someone else to reads it.

Real Friends

A book I recommend is "Real Friends" because part of the book's lesson is how valuable friends are. The main character has a friend who was not very loyal to her, and eventually they grew apart. She found a new group of friends who trash talk about her behind her back and she knew that she was the least like person in the group. She learn that she does not need to play with "friends" to be popular or cool. She just needed one good friend who is there for her. So the lesson of the story is don't change who you are for anyone, because a real friend would like you for who you are.

Friend Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe

So, the only books I read was this and Barron's APUSH and I took notes on it, so... Not much leisure, but, I had enough to read Friend Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is not a real place, but is in Alabama, and we go through several different perspectives of people, most commonly Evelyn Couch, and through the mind of Ninny Threadgoode. It seems plain, but it isn't. It shows that not all Alabama people are racist, and that people can taste like pigs with Big George's special barbecue sauce. It has enough maturity. But people can read it. It's fine enough. It packs enough adventure for you to savor on it for a few days. But the movie sucks.

The book that I read was Because of Winn-Dixie. It's about a lonely girl who finds friendship with a dog. It's a great book and I recommend it because it teaches people not to judge things by their appearance. It's an uplifting story about two completely different lives coming together and both of them being changed..

ANY OF THEM
In my opinion my favorie series of books are the croniciles of Narnia. Most people watch the movies not reading the books when the books are way better. Right now I am on book number 6 (there are 7) and am excited to read 7.
