He rushes back to the cave to tell the other 2 men, but they don't believe him. Anyways, based off of philosophy, we could exist in many different places, and different theories. All of these theories could be true and we would not know as our views on 'science' is based off of that reality. For all we know, our science could be incredibly wrong compared to what we know. When the man escapes the cave, both his brain and body have to adjust to the new reality he has been shown. He needs to understand that he has been released from his lower reality to a higher one and understand it. His body has to adjust (i.e. his eye sight, how he moves his physical body, etc).
