Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature(WWF). The event is held annually. It is held to encourage individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on a specific day towards the end of March. It was started in Sydney in 2007. Earth Hour 2021 took place on Saturday, 27 March from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time.

WWF is working with Cheorwon-gun to launch a habitat conservation campaign so that cranes who visit Korea every year can safely winter and more cranes can visit Korea. Water was trapped in the fields where crops were harvested to create an environment where cranes could stay, and insects were provided to promote rest and sleep.
