Songs and Artists who make music are very quickly spread through social media and technological devices that are able to play music. Song Artists can easily involve themselves with many controversial things, including politics, education, media, and product lines due to technology. For example: Kanye West, pictured below, became a very controversial topic after involving himself with current politics, which was immediately broadcast over several sites due to quick diffusion using technology.

YouTube was a site invented on the prospect of people making digital videos and sharing them around the world. Today, it is a extremely largely used social media site, with 1 billion active users a month. Countless amounts of people have made careers off of the website, and it is a major way popular culture diffuses.

Thanos car is a very good example of today's popular culture. It is a "meme" that diffused through all social media sites on the internet platform, and has been reproduced with variation millions of times. In fact, most people who access the internet (55.1% of world's population) would say that they have seen or heard of this joke or "meme". The "meme" itself is just a picture of a purple car with a long "chin-like" bumper with the caption "Thanos Car" referring to the ultra-popular movie "Avengers: Infinity War" 's main villain, a purple alien named Thanos. This "meme" shows how rapidly even the simplest things can diffuse on the internet today.

Viral content is broadcast extremely fast, and millions of people become involved with "funny" viral content posted onto social media platforms thanks to technology. Terminology has been designated to describe rapidly diffusing viral content, including the words "memes" and "internet phenomenons". An example of this is the "dab", a viral "dance move", or expression, made extremely popular over the course of a year. Millions of people across the globe were inspired to make content based on the "dab" and interpret it into their own creation.

Technology, like washing machines (pictured below) and light bulbs, diffused rapidly around developed countries far before the "digital age". The interesting thing; however, is that the diffusion of this type of technology was a foreshadowing of diffusion of newer "digital" tech. For example, the washing machine was an invention to make the act of washing clothes much easier. When it was first created, very few people knew about it, but as time went on and more were invented, washing machines diffused quickly to people who could afford them until everybody had a washing machine, and they were extremely common, reflecting the way "memes" or other popular culture is diffused today.

Nowadays, however, younger generations have shifted away from television and moved to the internet to diffuse popular culture.

Instagram, like Twitter, is a social media site where people share photos and ideas about each other with followers that follow their "posts". This social media site especially is responsible for online "trends" including clothing, food, styles, and opinions. These "trends" spread very quickly through the 800 million users in total, and easily leave the site to spread through regions and the rest of the internet.

The internet is the stem and source of almost all popular culture today. It is a vastly easily accessed resource in all developed countries, with many developing countries also following behind. Almost all things mentioned on this padlet are stored and diffused on the internet platform, with new ideas constantly arising. While for some, the internet is too expensive to access, it is still being widely accessed and new people are being introduced to it daily.
