This changed society by inspiring many more machines to be made. It also inspired many more factory's to begin creating machines, especially water powered machines.

1798 Interchangeable Parts

Interchangeable Parts were invented by Eli Whitney in 1798, Interchangeable parts were parts that could be switched to be fixed easier, Interchangeable parts were usually on Muskets a you see above.

These changed society by helping parts be fixed on muskets, machines, etc. This has carried on into 2025, like for example cars have interchangeable parts. This also helped today's modern military.

1800, NY Cities Growing

Around the 1800's, New York cities started to grow, this was because of all the people moving into the great lakes region because of the construction of the Erie Canal. The expansion of the cities sparked factory and business opportunities for people, and allowed people to make more money.

This impacted society by majorly improving the Economy and majorly boosting the population. This helped because it allowed more opportunities for making money and growing crops.

In 1800, because of all the growing city's, many woman and children were forced to work at factory's to improve city's. Some children were even forced to work at 7 years old, and most women were forced to work 12 hours per day, 6 days a week. This also caused many health problems for women

in 1844, a man named Samuel Mores, created the telegraph. The telegraph used Morse code to communicate between 2 people from far distances, just like todays phones. This was the first.

This helped society by making something that could be used for almost everything, just like how the military started to use telegraphs to communicate and plan attacks, it has also made many people build "Cell phones" which can have 2 people talk to each other from across the world.

1847-Reaper

The reaper was carried and dragged by horses, which were the work of 5 men, this machine helped cut wheat and other crops for farming. The "Reaper" was built by Cyrus McCormick 1847.

This helped society by creating a machine for farmers that would do the work of 5 men, making it much easier to cut crops for farming. It also has inspired many machines and vehicles today.
