Protected by a herb called moly provided by Hermes, he stays human rather than turning into a swine. Later on, he initially conquers Circe with the help of Hermes' advice, and she does everything she can to help him. Circe releases his men from the spell that turned his men into swine, and she became an excellent hostess and lover to Odysseus. In the article, it says “In addition to releasing the spell that turned his men into swine, she is such an excellent hostess and lover to Odyssesus.” (Cliffnotes) She does her job as a partner to Odysseus so well that his men had to convince him a year later to leave the island.
