2. Each character has a different personality and ego. Caesar thinks he’s better than everyone else and does not want people to think he’s weak. Brutus however does things he think will help for the greater good.

3. Both are unsure about their decisions making them insecure. Brutus is in insecure if he doing the right thing by killing Caesar. Caesar on the other hand is insecure about what others think of him, he wants no one to think he’s weak. If he listened to his wife to stay home he would be showing he’s afraid.

1) Brutus and Caesar both adore their wives, they respect their remarks and wishes. Brutus does not keep secrets from Portia witch is a very good quality especially if your married to that person. 2) They way they treat their wives shows the type of character and man they are because they are noble and a gentleman. Portia had to argue with Brutus in order to get him to share with her and Brutus made the decision to involve his family in the plot to kill Caesar without asking Portia how she felt about it. Brutus just made a decision based on his own ego, without consulting his strong and intelligent wife about it. At least Brutus did agree to involve Portia once she confronted him, whereas Caesar entirely dismisses Calpurnia’s ideas. If Caesar had listened to Calpurnia instead of his ego he might not have been killed. He didn’t really care about how she felt.
2.The way that Brutus and Caesar think about their wives, reveals their inner egos. Brutus’ not considering how his decision to join Cassius would affect his wife Portia reveals a certain degree of selfishness. Though he originally tried to lie to Portia, eventually when she confronted him, he chose his love for her over his ego and agreed to tell her about everything. But that didn’t mean that he really cared about her opinion on the matter. The way that Caesar brushed off Calpurnia’s warnings and pleas for him to stay home, shows just how arrogant and selfish he really was. His overconfidence and huge ego is revealed by his decision to completely ignore the feelings and thoughts of his wife.
3. Both Brutus and Caesar show their insecurities by being so easily swayed by the opinions of others. All it took for Brutus to kill a comrade he supposedly cared for, Caesar, was some flattery from Cassius and a couple fake letters of adoration. Someone who is secure in their own self worth would not be so affected by the opportunity of adoration from others. Caesar shows he is insecure by the way that everyone around him can so easily manipulate him. If he was secure within himself, he would not allow the opinions of others to sway his decisions to such a high degree.
