Ponyboy can count on his brothers. And on his friends. But not on much else besides trouble with the socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up "Greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect-until the night someone takes things to far...

A Connection

A connection I had with the story is when It says,"And nobody in our gang digs movies and books the way I do. For a while there, I thought I was the only person in the world that did. So I loned it." My connection is that my friends aren't very big book or movie fans like me. This part can be cited on page 2 of The Outsiders.

An Inference

An inference I had was when Darry was getting mad at Ponyboy for being out so late, I thought Darry was gonna hit him or something similar to that. I got the evidence from page 50. "He should never yell at Soda. No one should ever holler at my brother.I exploded,"You don't yell at him!"I shouted. Darry wheeled around and slapped me so hard that it knocked me against the door."

A prediction

A prediction in the book that I had was when Darry hit Ponyboy, I thought Ponyboy was never gonna forgive him for slapping him across the face. I also got this from page 50. "I turned and ran out the door and down the street as fast as I could. Darry screamed," Pony, I didn't mean to!" but I was at the lot by then and pretended I couldn't hear. I was running away. It was plain to me that Darry didn't want me around. And I wouldn't stay if he did. He wasn't ever going to hit me ever again."

A personal review I had with the book is when Soda and them left with the car and Ponyboy thought Soda was driving and I thought it was funny. This was cited on page 112. ""Bye," I said. I heard our Fords vvrrrrooooom and thought: Soda's driving. And they left."
