... from writing to closeout. We should be identifying needs for Title V competitions that will have great impact campus wide. The Ultimus form for grant proposals should loop the Exec. Dir. of HSI Initiatives into the queue for signatures needed. Future project directors should report to them as well to provide support for implementation and sustainability.

Most of the college's Latinx representation comes from APT and Classified staff that work in Student Services. In terms of cultural responsiveness, we have a lot to learn from in how to truly serve Latinx students. A lot of these concepts translate really well into classroom settings too.

I joined MEChA because I needed to be in a safe space on campus. A space where being Chicana is celebrated and RESPECTED. This space does not feel safe anymore given all the chaos with admin. We feel targeted and like we don’t belong here.

I would like to see more ethnic studies classes being offered. I believe there is only one Chicano Studies class offered and it is only in the winter semester. We need more of these kinds of classes.

We need more representation of Hispanics in the faculty and staff. I would like to be in a class where the instructor looks like me. Because PCC is an HSI this needs to be marketed more for future Hispanic students. Hispanic and Chicanx students need to feel welcome, I have been a part of MEChA for a few months and the entire time it has felt as though the faculty is doing the most to make us feel unwelcome here instead of embracing our diversity!
