I was attracted to Sarvani' s very precise anatomical renderings of the arms on her self-portrait. She reflects on how she chose to add the arms but no legs because legs would mean "she was rooted to a place". She wanted to convey her idea of "no sense of home" and that the piece was successful in communicating that idea.

Interesting to see how Joanna experiments with various mediums to try and create the effect she wants: e.g. splattering bleach on top of her ink drawings, making thumbnail sketches of a torso, sculpting with foam and with clay. She evaluates the effectiveness of each - she isn't entirely satisfied with the results nevertheless we, the viewer, can see how she's purposefully exploring in a direction.

Im also intrigued by how she used her analysis skills to get the design of her studio piece with color coding. Alina uses the connection between her hobby of knitting with her grandmother and the internet to connect with the situation of COVID-19. This connects to Ed Hawkin's "Warming Stripes" crochet/knitting project in which both connect to a global issue.

The audience does not have to be searching for anything but rather everything is well placed alongside its corresponding images. Their reflection was thorough, where they went through their challenges, what they learned, and the message they portrayed. I also found it interesting how he involved science in his project, it was surprising that they consulted their physics teacher to gain advice about how they should've approached their work.

Here Isabella, who had visited Tokyo and taken some pictures while on the subway at one point, once she learned of the toxic work culture, and deep social anxiety and isolation there was in the society, became inspired to make a piece which captured that issue. Using one of the pictures she took while visiting the nation, we see how she changes the composition and its elements to her liking in the process of making the studio work, wanting to better capture the message she was trying to display. We see her thematic and compositional ideas develop throughout the slide, and the documentation of the creation of the final piece is shown at the bottom of the slide.

She uses the theme of "Religious trauma" that unfortunately is a global issue. Yet, she faced trials and errors yet worked around and came out with the final piece. Truly inspiring.

It's only until the bottom right half that she actually reflects on what she could've done better, describing how she could've handled the lighting better. What I learned from this slide was that the specific slide shouldn't be restricted to a specific criterion, a slide would often blend with elements of the other criteria, and that I shouldn't feel so pressured to solely write about one.

What initially drew me to this slide was its formatting, especially as it could inform the way in which I decide to go about formatting my own power point slides. However, I discovered upon exploring more of Regina's process portfolio slides and artworks that both as far as theme and "technique", or rather, interest in "technique" goes we are much more similar than I thought we'd be. Regina mentions within the slide I screenshot above, that her experimentation with photorealistic drawing is an attempt to develop her theme of "hidden cultures in Mexico," which I found interesting insofar as a large portion of my body of work concerns an exploration of culture as well. Regina also states that she decided to focus on women as part of theme because "they are the gender less valued and most hidden from our eyes," which is another thematic preoccupation we share as well, considering I'd like to examine femininity from several different angles - primarily the concept of 'girlhood' and 'cultural beauty standards' within my own photography as well.

The slide can, on first glance, seemed disconnected and scattershot, but the connection of ideas via "circles", but the way in which Sofia employs their circuitous symbolism to examine themes surrounding the "circularity of history" was nothing short, in my opinion, of fascinating. I was also quite surprised by the diverse range of mediums she was able to experiment with and analyze the processes of within this slide alone.
