When she talked about Khalifah, I felt a sense of responsibility that goes beyond myself. It made me reflect on how my choices affect others and how I can be more mindful in carrying that trust.

The reminder about Khayr al-Ummah made me question whether I am contributing anything meaningful to the people around me. Ummatan Wasaṭan taught me that balance is not just a concept but something I need to actively practice in my daily life. I left the session feeling more aware of who I am and more motivated to grow into the person Allah wants me to be.

1. Use Loving and Respectful Language

He repeatedly said “O my beloved father” (Ya Abati)—a gentle, affectionate way to address his parent.

Adab: Always speak kindly and respectfully to your parents, even when you disagree.

2. Correct with Wisdom, Not Harshness

He didn’t insult the idols or mock his father’s beliefs. He simply pointed out that the idols cannot hear, see, or help.

Adab: When correcting your parents, use logic and compassion—not anger or sarcasm.

3. Stay Humble Even When You Know More

He said, “Knowledge has come to me that hasn’t come to you…”—not to boast, but to invite his father to guidance.

Adab: Share knowledge with humility. Never act superior to your parents.

4. Show Concern for Their Afterlife

He warned his father about the punishment of Allah—not out of judgment, but out of genuine love and fear for his father’s soul.

Adab: Care about your parents’ spiritual well-being. Make dua for them sincerely.

5. Respond to Harshness with Peace

When his father threatened to stone him and told him to leave, Ibrahim A.S. replied:

“Peace be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you…”

Adab: Even when your parents are angry or unfair, respond with calmness and dua—not retaliation.

6. Leave with Dignity, Not Hatred

He chose to distance himself from his father’s beliefs, but he did so peacefully and respectfully. Allah then rewarded him with a righteous family.

Adab: If you must walk away, do it with grace—not bitterness.

• Salah is not only prayer but a reminder to stay away from immorality and keep Allah in mind throughout the day.

• Sawm trains patience and empathy, teaching me to control desires and feel for those who struggle.

• Zakah purifies wealth and helps me care for others.

• Hajj disciplines believers to submit fully and live with humility.

The Pillars of Iman strengthen the heart. Belief in the Hereafter makes me more mindful of my choices, and Qada’ and Qadar remind me to trust Allah’s plan even when life feels uncertain. Learning about the signs of the Last Hour was a wake-up call that this world is temporary. Ihsan ties everything together by teaching me to live with excellence, as if Allah is always watching.

Worship is not just ritual but transformation, guiding me to be sincere and purposeful in life.

I realized that submission teaches me discipline and loyalty to Allah. Striving against laziness in prayer is a form of inner struggle that strengthens me for challenges outside of prayer. Self-reflection during Ṣalāh allows me to check my intentions and recognize my shortcomings, reminding me that I must always be aware of what I present before Allah.

Modesty and self-restraint are shaped through prayer, guiding me to guard myself from sinful acts. Humility is felt most strongly in sujud, where I acknowledge my dependence on Allah and let go of pride.

The most important lesson for me is that khushu‘ gives life to Salah. It is not something I simply perform but something that transforms me. When I carry the sincerity, discipline, and humility from prayer into my actions, my whole life becomes worship.
