The Roman Code of Paterfamilias reads, "If you should discover your wife in adultery, you may with impunity put her to death without a trial, but if you should commit adultery or indecency, she must not presume to lay a finger on you, nor does the law allow it."
My Commentary:
This is the beginning of domestic violence, it unfair how if you catch your wife cheating, it still doesn't mean you can kill her, the men have more power. History has to do with everything now and i hate to say, but the times back then were hard and i just can't see how they went through it.

It is a primary cause of injury to women in the United States. According to the National Institute of Justice, over one third (37%) of women admitted to an emergency room for violence-related injuries were abused by an intimate partner. Additionally, one in three women in the United States are physically abused by a partner at some point in their lives. The Center for Disease Control reports that approximately 1.3 million women are physically abused each year in the United States.
My commentary:
Domestic violence is a problem because every day a woman is going through an abuses relationship, the problem is exactly just the abuse . Are society is based on male dominance that men earn more than a hard working women,” women are weak” so they say.

We must all come to terms with the prevalence of domestic violence and better understand the impact on families, society, and even our economy. We must also step up to support those who have experienced it and, as importantly, find ways to prevent it.
My commentary:
It affects our society because the woman of the world are being hurt physically and mentally and it hurts to see or read the stories the ladies go through. I haven't physically seen it but i feel like i know what's happening with them. I just don't want this to keep going.
