1951 - Got degree from St. Louis University

1951-1965 - Worked as a teacher, at McDonnell Aircraft Corporation, and a few other companies

1965 - Got a job at Hewlett-Packard (HP) as a software development manager and lead developer. He worked on HP's very first computer.

1971 - Worked as a consultant for the company for Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He looked for promising investments in computer technology. Three companies that arose from that investment were Tandem Computers, Compaq, and Intel.

1973 - Became the first non-White to be on the Palo Alto City Council

1977 - Founded ROD-L Electronics and was its first CEO

2003 - Inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council’s Hall of Fame
