The Instagram page "shivamnow" by the Emotional Intelligence Coach Shivam is there to raise awareness and educate the audience on emotional intelligence in general. The content shared on the feed includes relationship advice, mental heath awareness, dealing with our surroundings and listening and validating ones own feelings and emotions.

While it is not directly targeting our target audience; university students, I believe that the content shared on it can be easily relatable to university students. This justifies the reason why I chose this account. Another aspect I liked about this account is that the engagement level between the audiences is high, which gives them the chance to learn from each other. The coach himself also tend to engage with his audience in the comments sections.

Overall, Shivam managed to create a safe space for people of different cultures and backgrounds to connect and identify that no matter how different our backgrounds are, when it comes to ones own wellbeing, these differences do not set us apart.

The Article "Emotional Intelligence, Satisfaction with Life and Burnout among University Students was conducted by
Ana-Maria Cazan and Laura Elena Năstasă. It discusses the role of emotional intelligence in the lives of university students and its impact on their academic performance, burnout and overall satisfaction in life. A study is conducted to assess the relationship between some of those variables to reach a conclusion.

In the Introduction, the authors illustrate the role of emotional intelligence in the academic environment of students. After having defined emotional intelligence as "the ability to monitor feelings and emotions, and to use them in order to guide thinking and actions," it is being applied on to the academic environment to highlight its impact on a student's ability to handle stress, anxiety and cope with the demands (Cazan,2014). Therefore, general research in the field has shown that emotional intelligence is associated to higher success rates in someone's academic journey.

Then, the study was conducted on 91 undergraduate Romanian students and presented to test the hypothesis of the authors; "emotional intelligence predicts burnout and life satisfaction in university students (Cazan,2014)." The results have indicated that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence in regards to burnout and life satisfaction levels of university students. Students who have a high emotional intelligence level tend to be more satisfied with their lives and less burnout.

Accordingly, the authors have concluded that the more university students are able to manage their emotions and handle their duties and assignments, the less likely are they to get burnt-out and the more likely are they to enjoy their life.

Mariam: Hello, thank you for giving me some of you time to go through a few points that would help me a lot in my university group project.

TAM: Hi Mariam, happy to help. Let’s get started

Mariam: So if I ask you to describe fresh graduates in 3 words, what would they be and why?

TAM: I would say innovative, daring and rushed. They are dynamic and full of energy, which motivates them to work hard and actively contribute to their role. Students graduate with fresh perspectives that empower them to provide any business with their innovation and creativity. I personally find them to be very daring in the sense that they are don't afraid to speak up their mind and voice their opinion to the rest of the team. Their eagerness results in them being a bit rushed to implement these ideas without fully assessing the situation and expecting immediate rewards to their work performance.

Mariam: Great, thank you. And what exactly do you look for in a fresh graduate to hire them?

TAM: So in general we hire based on character rather than previous academic performances. We are known for having a long hiring process that includes several filtering stages but that is because whoever we are going to hire is going to become our future leader. Our first stage is based on taking a cognitive abilities assessment to determine if our company is the right fit for you and vice versa. Then, we ask behavioral-based and situational questions to get to know the applicant better and assess whether or not they will be able to work with our PEAK Performance Factor that are leading with courage, aspire to innovate for growth, champion productivity, executing with excellence and in general bringing out their best.

Mariam: Okay and since you mentioned that you hire based on character rather than academic performance, what is something you wish universities could better focus on to build stronger characters?

TAM: I would strongly advise professors to concentrate on reflecting with the students on the learning curve students experience in addition to offering excellent academic content and ensuring that students can put this into practise. This is something we frequently observe in our interviews; applicants have a tendency to only ever discuss the specifics of the project they worked on rather than making generalizations about what they learnt from the experience both personally and academically.

Mariam: great, Thank you so much for your time!

TAM: it was my pleasure, hope this was helpful.

Mariam: Yes, definitely . Thank you.

Mariam: Good Evening, thank you for contributing some of your time to help me in my empathy investigation.

Prof: Of course, Tell me.

Mariam: How would you describe university students in 3 words and why?

Prof: strong levels of creativity, problem-solving, and social abilities. Of course some of them are not as social as the others, but I witness a lot of interactions between the peers both in class and in the plaza. Students frequently use unconventional and creative approaches to analyse issues and carefully consider all of the potential solutions for the challenges they experience.

Mariam: Do you see any relationship between emotional intelligence and gender or emotional intelligence and academic performance?

Prof: According to reasearch there is no relationship between gender and emotional intelligence. But there is a relationship between emotional inteligence and academic performance. The more emotionally inteligent the student is, the higher their academic performance tends to be.

Mariam: What can the university do to increase the emotional intelligence level of students during their university years?

Prof: Give them opportunities to develop the various areas of emotional intelligence which are
1 - develop Stress management (flexibility, stress tolerance and optimism)
2 - develop healthy self perception and awareness
3 - allow for heathy self expression and feedback
4 - develop healthy Interpersonal relationships, empathy and social relationships
5 - Facilitate effective Decision making (problem solve and impulse control)

Mariam: That's it. Thank you Dr. so much!

Prof: You are welcome, Mariam. Good luck.
