Industrial engineering is an engineering profession that is concerned with the optimization of complex processes, systems, or organizations by developing, improving and implementing integrated systems of people, money, knowledge, information and equipment.

This game would help IE students in helping them in reviewing IE topics efficiently.

Process of creating the program

Steps:
1. As much as possible we only included the basic and important concepts of IE.
2. Three forms were used. Form 1 (landing page), Form 2 (main interface), and Form 3 ("how to play").
3. Arrays were mostly used in creating the main interface. For-Next and If-then were used to make the program run easier and faster. Then Sub-procedures were also used to make the program run faster and to avoid redundant codes.
4. Test Run

Starting Form

When you start the program, this form comes out first. Only then will you access the game when you click "Play".

Main Program

After starting "Play" another application form will open which will run the main program of our project.

1. Simply start the game by clicking "Play" then "Start".
2. Try to match 2 cards per turn with least mistakes as possible.
3. Restart the game if you want to play more or exit if not.

To be honest, we started to plan as early as May 1. However, we did not start immediately. This is due to heavy workloads that we cannot find for our common time.
This program is somewhat I look as a good program. It cannot solve any mathematical or analytical problems but as Industrial Engineering is very unpopular to many students it could be a tool to make IE be better known.
In addition, IE is very a broad field and many specializations to be tackled. With this program we could make learning and familiarization much easier using the sensory sense of eyesight while giving the students some fun.

Therbligs

used in the study of motion economy in the workplace. A workplace task is analyzed by recording each of the therblig units for a process, with the results used for optimization of manual labour by eliminating unneeded movements.

Aldrin's Realizations

Computer Programming is a tedious work that it requires much focus and attention. Also you need to be patient as possible in order to spot possible errors, usually in debugging.
Usually, I thought that there are too many errors that the program mistakenly identifies, but by carefully tracing problems such as presets, configurations, etc. we can run the program smoothly the way we wanted.
We can also apply what we learned in our major subjects. DMAIC, as an example, we need to define what is the problem, analyze, improve and control whatever problems that may occur in the future.

Conceptualizing this program was the hardest to do. Since we wanted to do something unique but still be able to showcase our learnings not just in ES 26 but also in Industrial Engineering. After all, IE is a very broad field.
My favorite part was designing the interface for the main form since it was the first time I worked with picture boxes. I also liked that I was able to use and experiment with new objects like the timer and the progress bar.
All in all, this was a great learning experience. Though it was very time consuming and tedious to do, I enjoyed making this program a lot.

7 Wastes of Lean Management

The seven wastes of Lean are an integral part of Lean as developed and practiced by Toyota. “Waste” can be defined as any activity that does not add value to a customer. In the Lean framework, something can be considered a value-adding step if the customer is willing to pay for it, if the step transforms the product being produced, and if it’s done properly the first time. These are Motion, Inventory, Waiting, Defects, Overproduction, Transportation and Overprocessing.
