Creativity is a pure thought process and beyond the imagination. Moreover, it is not an easy task to define creativity because of its unique trait for everyone. For example, in the video, divergent thinking is creativity, and according to this video, it is an essential capacity for creativity. Creativity is not imagination; however, it could be the initial stage of creativity but developing imagination and bringing this innovation to life is creativity.

For instance, the video " how craving attention..." depicted that it is hard when people misunderstand creation for fame. Creative people can bring their thought to the development stage, and that developed thought could turn into a life.

Once we know how to unlearn something, then we can create. For example, a teacher says to the student,' draw an apple, a red apple, one round apple. Now, the student cannot create anything. Learning is not creativity; however, unlearning is creativity.

Just as video one was beautifully illustrated. Divergent thinking is the ability to see multiple answers not just one that is what creativity is to me. Multiple ways of thinking, creating, there’s not always one correct way of thinking/learning. The first video mentioned how genius is reduced as children get older so does creativity. The school system is not intended for creative people. It’s intended for factory workers. Video #3 explained failure so eloquently. “Failure teaches you many ways to do something.” However, it also teaches you the many ways you are “creative.” It teaches you how you view things, people, obstacles. There were many adjectives that described what creativity was as a whole in the third video. These are the words or phrases that stood out to me to view it with a lens of a child (innocence), to embrace the bad experiences, inspiration, success (not monetary), failure, and weirdness. Those were some adjectives that if asked prior to the video I wouldn’t have had thought of as creativity because it is so much more than just art. From the second video, I learned that there are two powerful feelings that guide us into being creative. They are getting attention and paying attention. That stood out to me because sometimes we forget to pay attention to what surrounds us. Which paying attention is an important skill to possess since as a teacher you want your students to do exactly that and as teachers we need to pay attention to our students so that we can help expand their creativity after knowing where their struggles and success are. Lastly, the fifth video talked about student dropouts and how all of the students do so for different reasons. However, I found it interesting how alternative schools which are classes molded to fit the students work better than “traditional” classes. In the video where the men talk about how creativity is one of the parts that is not tested in the standardized exams and how America is different from different countries, what was remarkable is when he talks about ADHD that they are just being children and that they can concentrate in school because they are not encouraged to do their curiosity to the subject is not there.
In the video where he talks about how our systems are created to help the industrialized system, he mentions too that ADHD is present because students are exposed to different games, and when they attend school the subject is just boring for them or not as interacting as the technology used at home.

In a similar way, I agree with the "Changing Education Paradigms" video and other mentions of the fact that education is being treated like production at a factory. We need to cater to the specific needs of students and let their creative minds roam free. It is heartbreaking to hear from the study that creativity and the idea of "divergent thinking" diminishes over time because of how the education system standardizes everything.

creativity is stifled by the desire for attention. When that desire is unsatisfied, people often times seek it out in all sorts of ways, sometimes unhealthy, whether it be by following trends or stirring up drama.

Creativity is expression.
Creativity is what makes us human.

Throughout Module one, I learned that we have been conditioned our whole lives through our education system to purposely put our minds into boxes, only believing that there is one right answer, only one way to solve a problem or do a project. Personally, I have enjoyed how Professor Samaniego has given us multiple opportunities within the first week of this course to truly open our minds to our own creativity that is inside us. She has allowed us to create without limits and is directly encouraging us to create our own verison of art without the confines of "guidelines" or "instructions".
