In my school magazine I left a lot of blank space and I could of added more text to it, but with my music magazine I used as much space as I could and I also got lots of information on the page.

The layout of my sixth form magazine is very plain and boring, whereas my music magazine is bright and eye catching so that it engages the audience and makes them want to buy my magazine.

For my sixth form magazine I didn't really know how to use Fireworks or what I was doing, so the banner and the masthead are very plain and simple as well is the pug. As we did more lessons I found using Fireworks easier and it allowed me to learn new skills that then allowed me to produce my music magazine.

None of my text had drop shadows in my sixth form magazine so the text didn't stand out at all and it made the front cover look flat.

When designing my sixth form magazine contents page I didn't think of how things were laid out and I also didn't think of any way of showing what was main articles. In my music magazine the main large image relates to my double page spread whereas the main image in my sixth form magazine doesn't relate to anything as I didn't know this was important.

I used more photos in my music magazine as it makes it much more visually appealing as some people prefer to look at pictures rather than just blocks of text on a page.

My music magazine contents page was more organised and thought out when it came to the layout which I think is important because it makes it look more professional and like a real magazine.

When I was creating my school magazine it was hard to line things up perfectly and I had to do it by eye which was hard to do as I couldn't be 100% certain that it was level because I didn't know how to use guidelines and I also didn't know that you could use them to help line things up and make my work look more professional. Because I didn't know how to use guidelines it meant that my work didn't look very appealing to the eye and wouldn't really be something that someone would want to buy from a shop. When we started making music magazines I learnt about guidelines and what I could use them for and it made my work much more professional looking and like something someone would want to buy.

I also developed skills editing photos online on websites such as PicMonkey, but I also developed skills editing photos in Fireworks itself. At first I was reluctant to try editing photos myself using Fireworks as I thought I would mess them up and not be able to change them back but I tried it and gained confidence doing so, and now I am much more confident when it comes to editing photos, online or in Fireworks.

I also gained skills using websites such as Prezi, Padlet, Scribd etc. because before Media I had never heard of any of these websites, and I found them hard to use when I first started and thought that they were too hard for me to be able to use regularly, but as we had to use them I found myself picking up what to do and how to do it and now I can confidently use them to do any amount of work and I could teach others how to use them if I had to as I feel very confident using these websites and creating content for my blog within them.
