The layered shapes that build dimension within the avatar show, not only my colour scheme but also nods to topographical maps adding another layer of cohesiveness to the self-map. 

Originally, I had many plans to incorporate the emotional timeline into a graph. However, when building the graph, with a background and the x and y axis it looked too rigid, and I felt it didn’t connect to any of my keywords. Instead, I looked at the environment around me presently, using Brisbane as an inspiration I created the curved shape that resembles the Brisbane River. Not only does this add another layer to the map but the water aspect also encompasses where I grew up, which was by the beach on the Sunshine Coast. Even with the contrasting colours the curved shape of the emotional map creates cohesion with shapes used to build the avatar. The curved shape is also more fluid better representing the capacity of emotions to change drastically over time. 

I aimed to create a self-map that would represent who I am as a person and a designer. My target audience, which includes my peers and prospective employers are all artists of some kind. I wanted to leave an impression of uniqueness and give them a comprehensive understanding of who I am.
