There are several sports that are particularly popular in the UK. Many sporting events take place at major stadiums such as Wembley Stadium in London and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Many famous sports, including cricket, football, tennis and rugby, began in Britain. The UK has hosted the Olympic games on three occasions: 1908, 1948 and 2012. The main Olympic site for the 2012 Games was in Stratford, East London. The British team was very successful, across a wide range of Olympic sports, finishing third in the medal table. The Paralympic Games for 2012 were also hosted in London.

Rugby is one of the most popular professional and recreational team sports in the UK and is divided into Rugby Union and Rugby League. The two sports are different in rules such as the number of players and in ways to advance the ball.

https://sport-travel.com/the-top-five-sports-in-the-uk/

When I learn about Southern England, I am so surprised because it is the area surrounding the outer suburbs of London, but this is the most densely populated area in the UK which does not include a large city. The next interesting point is the county of Kent, which is known as 'the garden of England' because of the many kinds of fruit and vegetables grown there.

Southern England has many places for people to visit like Cambridge, as one of England's smallest and most picture cities. Cambridge is truly one of the best places in Southern England to visit.

The thistle as a symbol in Scotland

When I learn about Scotland, I get to know more knowledge like Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, learn about history of Thistle why it is a symbol of Scotland. Whatever its origins, the thistle has been an important Scottish symbol for more than 500 years. Perhaps its first recognizable use was on silver coins issued in 1470 during the reign of James III and from the early 16th century, it was incorporated into the Royal Arms of Scotland. Scotland's premier Order of Chivalry is The Most Ancient and Noble Order of the Thistle. The motto which is regularly associated with the Thistle is, Nemo Me Impune Lacessit - ''no-one provokes me with impunity''.

I also learn and know about the legend of thistle through the subject. There is a legend which relates how a sleeping party of Scots warriors were almost set upon by an invading band of Vikings and were only saved when one of the attackers trod on a wild thistle with his bare feet. His cries raised the alarm and the roused Scots duly defeated the Danes. In gratitude, the plant became known as the Guardian Thistle and was adopted as the symbol of Scotland. Sadly, there is no historical evidence to back up the tale, and in fact, there's even confusion as to the type of thistle that we see represented everywhere.

https://www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/HistoryofScotland/The-Thistle-National-Emblem-of-Scotland/

- The British have a special affection for pets and wildlife, they see animals like people and when it die, they build the Rossendale Memorial Gardens in Lancashire is one of more than a hundred animal cemeteries in Britain. As in America, many people are prepared to pay quite large sums of money to get their pets a decent burial. Half of the households in Britain keep at least one domestic pet.
- But the love of animals goes beyond sentimental attachment to domestic pets. Wildlife programmes are by far the most popular kind of television documentary.
- Millions of families have 'bird tables' in their gardens. These are raised platforms on which birds can feed, safe from local cats, during the winter months.
