This being said, they had the agenda to make slaves mentally collapse and loose all sense of self worth, but physically keep them in tact. If a slave was to be physically harmed, the injuries would consist of broken legs, arms, etc, all injuries that would generally not risk the life. This was because the stronger and more able a slave is, the more work they would be able to accomplish, and therefore increases their owners financial status.
