Dances by the Murut people is usually performed to commemorate something. For example, when Murut warriors returns from the battlefield the village will celebrate their return by performing the dances.
Magunatip dance 

o   More commonly known as “Bamboo Dance” and considered one of the popular traditional dances in Sabah. 

o   “Magunatip” derives from the word apit which means “to press between two surfaces”. 

o   Dancers need to have good timing to swiftly perform the dance without being trapped by the clapping bamboo. 

o   To add more excitement to the dance and the audience, the pace of the tempo gradually increases as the dance goes on.

- Bridegroom give dowry and bride price to bride 

- During marriage or after 20 or 30 years of marriage 

- A lot of ceremony need to be done during Adat Tina’uh

Adat ‘Barian Sampai Mati’
- "Barian" in english also call as " Dowry"

- A traditional for wedding pass by older generation 

- Family of bride allow to pick anythings from bridegroom's house

Adat Kelahiran 

- New born will not be giving name immediately ( to avid bad things happens on baby)
- Name will be given by community of murut

- Name will be given base on particular events or nature 

- Name can be change a few times because of some special condition

Adat Kematian 

- Family members of the deceased will hit the gong and all the residents should stop from doing their activities.  
- The way they bury the corpse is according to the cause of death 

- The corpse will be clean and dress them with clean cloth 

- The corpse will place at their house for 2 days
