Overview: Legal project that serves children in the public school system
Programs
  1. The ACS takes on cases involving, short-term suspension, long-term suspension, expulsion, involuntary transfers, denial of enrollment, discrimination, mistreatment by school security, special education, bullying, and academic failure
Participants 
  1. The child must live in a household no more than 187.5 percent above the federal poverty line (no more than $25,987 for single parent, $35,006 for two parent household)
  2. The child must not live in foster care
  3. Legal Aid of North Carolina will screen its applicants to determine if they meet requirements
