Franklin Summer Tarbell: Not so good, the  Standard Oil Company is still trying to put us out of business, it's getting hard to pay the bills with them taking over all the other small oil  businesses around us.

Ida Tarbell: That's  awful Dad! People need to know how awful the Standard Oil Company really is!

This conversation is between Ida and her father, who had owned a small oil company. Ida would listen to this song because it is about rising above and outsmarting someone who had treated you poorly just because they were in a higher position then you.

This would be one of Ida's favorite songs because it is about beating someone else in something and showing that you are better than them and can over come anything, just like Ida had to overcome the standard oil company trying to ruin her dads business which she was able to do by exposing their practices and corruption.
