Nothing particular on CCA. However, I was involved in a project between Namibia and Zimbabwe that aimed at building food safety capabilities in both countries, leveraging individual strengths and experiences. The Namibian lab was better at routine food safety testing enabling the country to export its foods, while the one in Zimbabwe was better in quality management which Namibia needed

In Kenya, South-South and Triangular Cooperation has opened doors for practical exchanges, such as learning from Vietnam’s e-voucher system to improve input delivery and from Indonesia’s aquaculture practices for our coastal communities. The Common Country Analysis highlights shared priorities boosting climate-smart agriculture, empowering women and youth in agribusiness, managing natural resources sustainably, and embracing digital tools in farming. These areas present real opportunities for Kenya to both learn from and share solutions with other countries facing similar challenges.

In Bangladesh, I have experienced South-South and triangular cooperation most prominently through youth-led climate and development initiatives aligned with national priorities identified in the Common Country Analysis (CCA)—particularly in areas such as climate resilience, youth engagement, and inclusive governance.

While working with UNDP’s Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP), I contributed to regional exchanges where Bangladesh’s approaches—such as grassroots youth mobilization, low-cost digital advocacy, and community-based climate awareness—were shared with countries across Asia-Pacific. These engagements directly reflect Bangladesh’s CCA priorities of strengthening climate adaptation capacity and empowering youth as development actors.

A key insight from this experience is the comparative advantage of scalability and contextual adaptability. For example, Bangladesh’s experience with youth-led campaigns like climate awareness drives and policy dialogues was adapted in countries like Nepal and Samoa, where similar socio-economic and climate vulnerabilities exist. These exchanges required minimal financial resources but generated high impact due to shared contexts and peer-to-peer learning.

Triangular cooperation played a critical role, with UNDP acting as a facilitator—providing technical guidance, modest funding, and platforms for knowledge exchange. This ensured that national priorities identified in the CCA, such as inclusive participation, climate resilience, and digital engagement, were not only addressed domestically but also strengthened through regional collaboration.

Overall, this experience highlights how Bangladesh can leverage South-South and triangular cooperation as a strategic opportunity to both contribute to and benefit from shared solutions, accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals in a cost-effective and locally relevant manner.
