I used to hate reading. I do not why, even though I have never read a book before. I attended school in Egypt. Schools in there a simple, we do not read books or novels. There are only small text books that we study from.

The reason I think that I hate reading is because I think they are time consuming and they waste time. I also think that they are boring, but I take my words back. as a quote said we should not judge a book by its cover. I was totally wrong. Books are not boring like I thought they are. The first book in English that I have ever read is the ¨Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.¨ I read it in my junior year of high school. I started school in the U.S. as a freshman, but I was put in ESL classes. Once I exited the ESL program, I started mainstream classes.

Having this experience I get to learn new vocabulary words which I could learn from and use it in my conversations. I learned lots of Technics. I learned how to imagine things that I am reading. Which is awesome for me. By reading my languages has been devolving in which helped me with my mainstream classes.  Reading has became a time killer for me. This experience made me say ¨I love reading¨ instead of ¨I hate reading¨

I left my country when I was five years old. Then I moved to Egypt and I lived there for nine years. We did not have an easy life back in Egypt. one of those difficulties that we faced was language. We had to learn the Egyptian accent in order to communicate.

 After a while, we heard of a program that sends refuges to foreign countries. Therefore, we have applied and we finally came to the U.S. learning the language was one of the hard things that we have to face. It is not only language that we need to get used to, but also rules, culture, and food.

This event is so significant to me because I got to experience lots of things. I get to learn a new language that is spoken in most countries. I also got to try a new type of food that I would have never taste in my life. Life in here is great. I will get to have a successful future if I push hard and I will !!!!
