<title>We have chosen the theme bullying among kindergarten children. This is an issue that has become more relevant and gained more attention in the last decades. In a public health perspective this an important issue where prevention of bullying and facilitation of a good psychosocial environment can promote physical and mental health later in life. The theme is an important focus, and is featured in the education directorate framework plan for the kindergarten&#39;s content. Based on this framework, we see that there is one of the kindergartens task to start preventing work against bullying early.A challenge may be that there is not a clear and common understanding or definition of what bullying is, and what is the content of the term bullying, when it comes to children. It is not always that every action is deliberate or carefully thought out. Children do not always know the consequence of their actions or behaviour, and this requires the presence of adults who can guide and raising awareness among children on behaviour that could be perceived as bullying. Directorate of Health has created a special guideline manual on environmental health in kindergartens and schools, where it is a requirement that the business will promote prosperity and good psychosocial conditions.</title>

<title>In Norway, barnehage (children&#39;s garden) is the term equivalent to kindergarten, used for children in the ages between 10 months and 6 years. The first barnehager were founded in Norway in the late 19th century. Although they have existed for 120 years, they are not considered part of the education system. They are both publicly and privately owned and operated. The staff, at minimum the manager, should be educated as førskolelærer (pre-school teachers). The children spend most of the time outdoors. There is also an institution called barnepark (children&#39;s park), which does not have to have certified staff.</title>
