Moonlight slices through the still, quiet night. A night where most people in the remote town of Tennessee are dozing peacefully in their beds. But not Detective Shirley.
Since the shocking news about an increasing number of people suddenly gone missing, she's been working around the clock. She has sat in her black Chevrolet for almost an hour now. Keeping an intent lookout and making sure to catch sights of any roaming entities.
After a while, she steps out of her car to make a final check before she calls it a night. With the town surrounded by thick forests, nights like this are terrifying. The detective can't deny it either. The ravens' grim squawking? Not helping.
Walking further into the woods, she grows more nervous. To cope, the detective hums a joyful tune. Nodding her blonde head along. Until she hears distant scuffing.
Her face becomes stern. Eyebrows furrowed with confusion. Lines of wrinkles formed on her forehead. Without a second thought, the detective reflexively tightens her hand around her pistol strapped on her right waist. She strides farther towards the forest, determined to find the source of the suspicious sounds earlier.
She hears it again - a lot more clearer, even. Her skin hairs stood up. This means that wherever the entity is right now, they're closer. She takes out her pistol and holds it firmly on her sweating palm, readying for whatever there might be.
As if on instinct, she makes aware of her surrounding. Looking up, she sees that the moon has turned into a full moon. The hazy fog grows thicker. The damp smell shifts more apparent now. A sudden far-off howl jolts her body. She hears growling - a keen, longing desire.
Her brain cords connect together. Making sense of the whole puzzle. Hitching, unsteady breaths come out of her now pale lips. "No... It can't be.", she mutters underneath her breath.
"This can't be real- Ah!" her words come to an abrupt stop when she suddenly gets dragged away by a bulk, furry creature.
All that's left, is the detective's pistol laying on the ground...

I was alone in my house as all my family members had gone to Perak yesterday. I was a bit sad for not joining them to have an amazing holiday there as I was really busy with my school examination which was just around the corner.

6.00 a.m.
I woke up and took my shower as usual. Out of the blue, I heard "Ding Dong Ding Dong "sound, the doorbell was ringing endlessly and made me curious who did that at this time. Luckily, nothing serious and it just my cat 🐈.

7.00 a.m.
Another time, another "ding dong " sound I heard. At this time, I was really scared and I tried to ignore it .But it wasn't even stop after 15 minutes. So I decided to open the door and luckily it was my aunty and she just wanted to give me some nasi lemak but there was no cucumber in it. Therefore, I took the knife in my kitchen and cut some cucumber into small pieces. The cucumber was really hard so I cut it strongly and all the juices flowing out. Eventually at that moment, I ate my nasi lemak using a spoon. It was a bit spicy.

9.00 a.m.
After I've done my homework, another "ding dong" sound rang out. My feeling was over the moon when I noticed that my parcel from South Korea has just arrived. It was the coolest and latest necklace that my mom bought for me .It was really nice with light pink as the main colour. To make sure the size completely fits my neck, I tried it and yes it was good enough. As soon as I used it for 15 minutes, there were some weird liquids flowing down.

12.00 p.m.
Finally, it was lunch time. I have asked my aunty to order some food such as pizza and burger as my lunch foods. After 15 minutes later, a light green motorcycle came and he rang the doorbell. I heard that "ding dong " sound and as fast as lightening, I went there to take my pizza and burger. As the foods were not hot anymore, I planned to preheat those foods using my mom's oven for about 10 minutes at 200⁰ degrees Celsius. Yeah, it was my bad as the temperature must be less than 160⁰ degrees Celsius, but I just enjoyed those foods despite it was overcooked. As the temperature was 200⁰ degrees Celsius, my hand was scalded.

(Unknown time)
I woke up in hospital and at that time I was surrounded by my family members. Once I opened my eyes, the nurse explained to me why I was there. She said I cut my hand using a sharp knife, hurt my neck by wearing a sharp necklace and I was injuring my hand by putting my hand inside of the hot oven. I did it all by myself.Other than that, she also said when I cut the cucumber, actually I cut my own hand and that "juices " were not actually the cucumber juices, but it was my blood and that's why I used the spoon instead of using my hand. Same thing happened when I used that necklace, that "weird liquids" were also my blood. I was shocked to hear that. Oh and then I realized this hospital wasn't a normal hospital, but it was a mental hospital.

-the end-

She wakes up, all she can see is darkness. She looks around and realizes that she is alone in an empty room. All that was in the room was just a door on each wall. Suddenly all the doors open on its own. She looks at the door she is facing and sees a creature. The creature is missing the left chunk of its head revealing the brain and a missing eye. The right eye is pitch black. Its skin white as chalk. The smile stretches from the ear to the other and reveals the unorganized razor sharp teeth. She stands up and bravely shouts, "Where are my friends and what did you do with them!".
The creature slowly walks to her. Her braveness fades away and she runs into a door behind her. She slams the door and sees three more doors in the room. All the doors except the door behind her opened by its own and reveal more rooms with more doors. She runs into a random door again and again like a maze. She don't know how to get out of there. She panicked as she is afraid for her life. She suddenly stumbled upon a different kind of room. The room has a full dining table and a door way. The doorway leads to a hallway which also leads to the exit.
She sprints as fast as she can. As she near the entrance, she accidentally step on a black liquid, slipped and banged her head to the floor very hard. She touches her head in pain and sees blood on her palm. She crawls out of the house, trough the porch to her friend's car. She got to the driver seat and takes the key from under the car mat. She tries to start the car but it won’t start. She looks at the rear-view mirror and sees the creature looking at her from the porch. She tries to start the car again. As the car starts, she steps on the gas paddle so she can get out of there real quick.
She tries to find her way out of the woods. She suddenly stumbled upon a police cruiser. She gets out of her car and run to the cruiser. The officer rolls down the window and ask her if he can help. She tries to explain but she can't control herself. The officer asks her to calm down and explain one by one. She looks at the passenger seat and screams as she saw the creature sits right next to the officer. The officer tries to calm her down but get killed instantly and his blood splashes everywhere. She runs back into the car and accelerates to get out of there.
She didn't realize that the creature is right behind her seat. The creature chocked her and she lost control of the car. The car hit a small ramp and flips upside down. She kicks the door and start crawling out of the car. She tries to stand up but her feet sink into the ground. She pull her feet out but her feet are being pulled to the ground. She panicked and looks around to realize that she is now in a graveyard. She screams for help as she slowly being pulled down into the ground. He looks to her right and sees four tombstones with his friend's name written on them. She screams in terror as she realizes that nothing can be done to save her life.....

The Scary House

As I stood, gazing at the dilapidated house. I shivered, as though, ice had replaced my spine. The cold air enveloped the entire body. The multiple layer of clothing could not protect against the deathly cold. The walkway leading up to house were cracked. Weeds and dandelions poked out from these cracks. Red roses grown wildly in thick batches by the gate. The moonlight cast a ghoulish glow on the house. Vines formed a twisted maze upon the side of house, reaching their tentacles towards the roof. The house's walls showed black decay by neglect. Splotches of original paint hinted at the house former prosperity. Cobwebs covered the corners of the doors, tiny black spiders threading towards their prey. The house is fit for the kings and queens of the supernatural.

The door begrudgingly creaked open. A musty, dank order creep into my nose. The house was dead silence except for the intermittent creaks and moans. Black and brown mold dotted the ceiling in clusters, evident of rain seeping through the roof. I quietly entered the dark living room. Windows covered with grime and dirt, the calm moonlight struggled to penetrate the darkness in thin thread rays. Sharp shadows roamed around the room. The sofa and chairs overturned revealing deep grooves on the ground where they used to sit. Wallpaper lay curled on the floor. A large jagged hole dug through the wall stood as though daring any to enter. Picture frames hanged off-centered. Sharp shadows roamed around the room. A misplaced grand bookcase stood the corner of the room, undisturbed for a long time. Selecting the correct book could reveal a secret doorway into a labyrinth.

I made my way back into the hallway, a slimmer of light came from behind a door. I approached and opened the door. I had reached the bathroom. The single window was mildly dirty, a flood of light flowed into the room. Dust swirled around the room as I made my way inside. The medicine cabinet mirror lay shattered in pieces on the floor tile. Empty medicine bottle lay in the porcelain sink. The only sound to be heard is the drip, drip of the faucet. A closer look revealed the discoloration of the water, a brownish concoction. A lone mouse stood sentry at the bottom of the tub. Never having a visitor in a while, it curiously eyed me before scuttling away. Approaching the bathtub, a violent odor made it way to my nose. Pinching my nose, I leaned over and peered inside. Crusty rags filled the bathtub, little hints of movement underneath them. It would be unadvisable to see what is under the rags.

I arrived at the foot of the staircase. I stood and peered at the top, wondering when a twisted head person will crawl down and have me for dinner. I summoned strength and tiptoed my way up the stairs. Each step intensified the moaning and creaking as if the steps could collapse at any moment. I turned to the right, and met my final destination. The door did not give way easier, a forceful push was needed. Stepping inside, a dresser seem to have been pushed against the door, attempting to deny anyone entry. I could make out the silhouette of bed, edging in closer for a better look. A toy dinosaur lay missing its head on the bed. The sheet was splattered with a dark color. The wind intensified outside, the rustling of the leaves and branches were louder. In the corner, a little chair began to rock slowly. The room had once belonged to a boy. The thin strips of wallpaper showed little trucks. Crayon markings scrambled upon the wall where wallpaper used to stick. The carpet squished as I walked. Little picture frames remained facedown on the carpet.

A howl echoed throughout the house. It was time to leave, I told myself. I closed the bedroom door behind as I carefully walked down the stairs. I hoped I did not disturb anything or its somber rest. I made my way outside where my group of friends was standing. They asked me what took me so long; I replied that escaping the ghosts was difficult.

Pushing the heavy gates open the touch of the iron bars, as cold as ice, seized up my hand completely. Even though I could feel the unevenness of the old cobbled path beneath me, they were smooth in contrast to the crunching of the odd dead leaf that I stepped on. Carrying on up the path the grass carried on forever into the horizon, a dull grey colour as if it had lost the will to live and stopped growing altogether. One lonesome Oak tree stood by the house swaying in the wind and as the wind swept by the tree whispered to the air and its surroundings. The moon shone bright white, in the cloudless sky, it was the only source of light that could be seen for miles.

The windows rattled vigorously from the howling wind, as though they were about to fall out of the frames which were made from rotting wood being eaten away by wood worm. A few potted plants lay next to the door, once there for neat presentation now wilted and brown, almost certainly dead. The door had been left ajar perhaps for many years, or maybe someone was already in there. The hallway was dull and smelt of dust mixed with old age. Paintings hung up of what looked to be important rich prople, their eyes following my every move. To the left was a old wooden stairway leading upwards to the second floor each step looked so delicate and worn that if you were to walk up them you would step right through them.

As I entered the kitchen I could see the moonlight shining through the windows casting a reflection on the wall opposite. Mugs and plates lay on the surface cold and stained by tea. The sink and taps made from brass, eroded and layered in dirt, still leaking water into the sink and every time a drop of water fell an echo passed around the house as though symbols were being smashed together. I could feel the coldness from the musty orange and black tiled floor even though I was wearing shoes it felt as though it had frozen over. I moved on to the dining room a big table made from oak and six chairs filled the room. The table had been laid the plates and silverware lay there untouched and unused like a forgotten date. Above the table hung a beautiful chandelier twinkling in the moonlight. The walls plastered with cream wallpaper curling in at the corners.

In fact, I am a cowardly girl
but made decision to stay at home and hit the books as the SPM examination was
just around the corner There were only two weeks left before the true war would
begin I was updating my blog as my routine after a whole day and night studying
hard Google Chrome is not responding kept flashing on the screen. Then. I
realized that the internet connection was disconnected after a loud thunder I shut
off my computer before the lightning could strike it.

After that I ran as fast as lightning without glancing back towards my bedroom
from the studying room. I jumped onto my bed in protest. All of a sudden, BOM
the door closed loudly by the wind gave me a shock I lay down on my bed to rest
but the light suddenly went out, after another thunder The rain became big fat drops
and beat like bullets on the roof Luckily, my phone was with me... My phone was my
spirit at that moment. My hearts started to thud in panic. I unlocked my phone and
clicked on the flashlight app's icon on my phone.

Just at the moment the flashlight was on, I saw a shadow standing in the bedroom
with white shirt and there was no head and limbs on the shadow! Ghost arh. Oh my
God! I screamed rivaled the blast of thunder and rain. God, please help me 1
promise to be nice after this I mumbled. When I peeked in fear the ghost that I
had not seen was my school uniform that I had hung on the wardrobe before Thank
God! but I was still be scared. I kept playing with my phone without glancing
elsewhere so that I not thought about the scary thing. There is no such thing like
ghost or evill Nobody proved that ghost exist on the earth! I talked to myself Soon,
my phone ran out battery, it shut off automatically without warning, Indicating my
only source of sanity was gone. I was totally lost.

DING DONG the doorbell was ringing endlessly echoing in my ears, I was wondering who was pressing the doorbell although it was raining outside. Is it daddy and mummy coming back earlier? I thought Then, I headed to living room to open the door with happy tears. Daddy when I opened the door I totally lost all my words. Yes, there was nobody that I could saw. Must be the neighbour's naughty boy playing the doorbell, but it was raining now I wondered. Someone was trying to break into my house? Nobody by my side for the moment and how could I tackle this. I quickly closed and locked the door without second thoughts despite my hands were slightly shaking. I do not know what to do at that instance. Difficultly, I dragged my frozen and stoned body back to my bedroom in the dark house.

On the way back to my bedroom, I sensed a freezing cold hand touching my back, I glanced back and stared at the bloody eyes like the Annabelle doll of something strange with no word. I fainted after that. The next thing was I was woken up by my parents, on the corridor. I cried and hugged them warmly. My girl why were you on the floor? my mum asked. I told them the whole story with tear and fear My mum curved a smiled and said It's ok now, don't worry, my girl everything had passed I regained my consciousness after that My parents brought me to the clinic for a checkup as I was over shocked and fainted. The doctor said I was too stressful probably in my studies cause Illusions in my mind.

We had chicken breast for lunch t Helvetica and then we left to our respective homes. It was early summer. So I went to sleep after a shower and didn't wake up till 9 p. M. My Parents were leaving for Dad's business tour to Delhi and they won't be back for at least two weeks. My sister and I were quite happy about the fact that we can do whatever we want for two whole weeks. I was planning to stay awake till late night and watch movies. But little did we know that we were going to regret these feelings later. Mom and Dad left around 11. So it was only me and my elder Sister Sees In the whole apartment.

It's a three storied old apartment building with only one unit per floor. But the apartments are really big considering they have almost 2500 sq feet space. Our apartment has four bed rooms, two Verandas, one dining room, one drawing room, one kitchen and 3 washrooms. My sister and I shared a common washroom between our rooms where our parents room and the guest room had an attached washroom. So right after our parents left. I went back to my room and started watching this movie called "The matrix"and Sees was talking to her friend on phone. A quarter passed midnight when iris heard it.

A knock in my door. I thought it was Sees so I did not bother to open up right away. Then I heard It again . This time louder and harder than before. I was both annoyed and a bit angry because I was really enjoying the movie. So I went rushing to the door and opened it. It was strange as I found no one outside my door. At first I thought Sees was trying to play a prank on me so I went to her room which was around 20 Ft away from my room and her door was closed. When I went inside , I found her lying on her bed talking to her friend loudly as usual. And she looked at e with a question in her eyes.

Asked her In a loud pap! Why did you knock so hard on my door? What do you want? This Isn't funny you know'. She told her friend to hold for a second and asked me what I was talking about. When I told her again she replied angrily that she was talking with friend all the time and didn't even get up from her bed. Obviously didn't believe her and asked her to stay away. She then gave me the phone and her friend confirmed she was talking with her. Left without prolonging the argument shutting the door loudly. And I went back to watch my movie. Then it happened again after half an hour.

First a gentle knock and then followed by loud and hard knocks on my door. This time I almost ran towards the door determined to catch Sees pap on the act but found no one outside again. But I didn't waste my time standing there. I kept on running towards Sees pap's room 1 OFF Ana Tuna near again lying on near Dead still talking to near Eternal . Eater another neaten discussion Sees Pap decided to follow me back to my room and talk there on phone. She said, "Naval! Obviously you are not believing me when I am telling you I have not oft my room or my bed.

So I am going to your room now so you can't blame me anymore. " I agreed silently but still did not believe her. So I started watching my movie or what was left of it after all these interruption and arguments while Sees pap was lying on my bed now talking to her friend on phone. After ten more minutes the knocking started again. And then it got louder and louder until the door started shaking. Sees looked startled. I wasn't moving from my chair either. We looked at each other and finally realized that both of us were not lying to catheter.

Growing up, my bedroom was the only one that faced the front of the house/street. When I was about 8 or 9, I woke up to my dad calmly but firmly telling me to get up, go in the bathroom, and shut the door. I was annoyed because I was half asleep, but I listened. Apparently I was more tired than I realized, because I feel asleep on the bathroom floor. The next morning I asked my mom what happened. She seemed oblivious and confused. I looked at my dad like she was crazy, and I asked him why he had woken me up. He denied doing it. I was becoming frustrated to the point of tears, but I ultimately let it go.

Fast forward to college. I was home one break, and I decided to ask again. I had thought of that night off and on for years, and it still bothered me. This time, my dad goes, "Ha! I was wondering if you even remembered that." Turns out that a lot of houses on our block were being vandalized and robbed all those years ago. Someone had broken into the garage and was inside the house. My room was partially over the garage. My dad heard it happen and quietly got me to safety. Police were called, the guy ran. He was never caught, however, and my parents didn't want a terrified kid on their hands, so for years they pretended like nothing had ever happened. It wasn't supernatural, but it was unsettling for sure

MR | AFIF

The woods were cold, the birds were missing and "the playground" are alarming. Years had gone by since the last incident of the missing child and the traumatised mother, and now, "it" is looking for someone new.

"a fresh start"
The day of a family from California is looking for a new, so called "home" to raise their young, the family traveled far beyond their comfort neighbourhood. "Finally!" said the older daughter out of rage and exhaustion when they finally arrived at their destination, mother looks at her three daughters as they are getting ready to meet the house owner, they hopped off the vehicle and the oldest took a glimpse at one of the windows "looks depressing" while grinning, they were walking to the front door as the mother realises that the air is chilly but nevertheless "creepy" and screaming "get out of here before its too late!". "hello? is anyone home?" shouts the father, strangely, there was no answer, the father went out to search for someone, someone around. The other four members of the family were inpatient and gave the house another loud knock on the door and said "we paid for the house today!", and suddenly the door opened dramatically wide, there were five members in front of the door, grinning, smiling and laughing with these looks of hatred and sadness bursting through their faces as they welcomed the "new owners", the family walked in while the last owners stepped out, "mom, why were they so pale?" asked the youngest, the others looked at her with a scared and worried feeling, questions start to explode in their minds "is this place haunted?", "are we going to be "okay" here?", the questions continue

"Dad, come back"
The moonlight is closing in, "where is dad?" said the oldest, "don't worry now, i'm sure he will be back soon" the mom said in a calm tone, just as they were going to lose patience, they heard a loud knock, they opened the door to find a person, sitting on their front porch he said "i'm here to play" the door slams shut! the windows break and they heard whispers, the mother, wonders around the surprisingly big mansion and hears a loud, irritating scream that sounded like the scream of a thousand souls, it was let out by, the middle daughter, the family is in shock, however, the child said "it's okay mommy, i just felt like screaming" with a smile so pure to be true, "my daughter is mute" said the mother, "evelyne, no!" said the oldest, evelyne ran, faster, faster and until, she stopped in a room, in an eerie, room, she said in a tone of voice able to bleed a man's throat, so loud! she screamed "SHE IS HERE!

It was a calming night until there was some drop of water falling from the sky. It started to rain cats and dog. 'The Rain Killer' finally made his appearance to murder his next target. "Yeah this time we will surely catch that criminal", said those police officers that were guarding the next victim of the murderer that they have predicted. While they were keeping an eye to the victim, suddenly, the street lights started to turn off and before they even knew it, the target was lying dead on the ground. The police officers were so shocked that the murderer escaped without a single traces, not even a fingerprint. Although this is not the first time, they still have no clue about the killer's identity. So, starting today it's up to my team to handle this case. I look up to this guy's
previous crime and come out with a theory. Yes, this guy only make his move during a rainy day. My team predict the next target. Our plan is to switch my uniform with the target and put my life on the line to pretend to be the target and catch the killer off guard. Guess what? The killer doesn't show up today. I return to my home feeling tired and going to get some rest when suddenly there's someone knocking on my door. There's no one when I open up the door. But when I turn back there's a knife pointing to my neck and the guy who is holding the knife is my teammate from the police department. His cloth looks exactly like "The Rain Killer". It turns out that I am his next victim not the guy we predicted. He just made the prediction up so I don't suspect him. Who guess the mastermind behind all of this is my own teammate that I thought was a friend?

-Muhammad Nafis Zafran 2C

As I opened the door to the creepy old haunted house on my street, I started to think that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I scolded myself for wanting to turn back, and hesitantly stepped inside to explore. My brown hair and dark brown eyes made me practically camouflage in the wood-paneled foyer, except for my old grey hooded sweatshirt and comfortable red sweat pants. I was average height for eleven, but I still going to have to look up to check for cobwebs. I had to clean my glasses because so much dust had collected on them. My hair needed washed already because so much dust has collected on it. As I walked through the doorway to my right, I realized that this must be the formal fining room. An old, Victorian style table with eight elegant chairs was obviously the focal point of the room, resting on a beautiful green, gold and red toned carpet. The hardwood flooring around it coordinate flawlessly with the wainscoting, which game approximately a third of the way up the elegant gold-painted wall. The vast picture window was framed by a custom cabinet with a buffet coming to just below the windowsill. My heart was pounding, and the room smelled dusty, musty, and faintly of roses. On the table there was a large bouquet of red roses, and eight green, red, and gold place mats. Another red rose, each in a slender vase, sat at each place. I decided to look through the cabinet by the window to see if anyone actually lived here. If someone did, I hoped they were away. Suddenly, I heard something something behind me. GURGLE GURGLE GURGLE! I swiftly turned around, but saw nothing. It was probably just my stomach, I thought to myself. I kept sorting, but with no findings. Just then, I saw a shadow in the reflection of the glass bolt across the room. I jumped up and looked around, but still, nothing seemed suspicious, so I kept sorting through the papers, but with my heart pounding, I was ready to go for the door on a moment's notice. Without warning, I felt a paper towel, or something like it, dragging on the back of my neck. I whipped my head around, and when I saw an apparently not-so-dead mummy standing over me, I jumped back and gasped. I almost started to run toward the door, but, unfortunately, the Mummy was blocking the way. He must have been at least six feet tall, towering over me like I would have towered over an ant. Wrapped in something that seemed like gauze, or maybe paper towels, I had no idea where he had come from. When I had jumped back, barely two seconds ago, the glass doors of the cabinet had shattered. CRASH! I heard as the glass fell on my legs. "OUCH!" I exclaimed. The mummy made a noise that sounded kind of like he was trying to say, "Go away!" but I couldn't tell because of the gauze that covered his entire being from head toe, with the exception of his mysterious beady black eyes. These eyes glared down at me with such an intensity that I could not stop myself from muttering, "Oops." That was when I noticed what he had in his hand. It was a pure gold sword, with a blade as long as my arm. He was obviously planning to decapitate me. My eyes opened widely, and it felt as if I had completely lost control over my body. I saw a loose end of his gauze covering flapping at his side. Without thinking my risky escape plan through, I grabbed the loose end and tugged with all of my might. When the mummy started to spin, I knew that he would get dizzy and collapse, so i darted for the door. BANG! The door slammed behind me, and I bolted down my street to get back home. "Phew!" I said as I wiped the sweat off of my forehead. I spread out on my sofa, winded from the running. As I lay there, I decided that later, I would tell my family about my adventure. I felt very brave after defeating the mummy. I was dozing off from my tiresome adventure, but my hope before I drifted off to sleep was that some day I would be able to tell my children and grandchildren all about the periluos adventure that I had experienced that day.
