-The two figures on the wedding cake are Othello and Desdemona. This represents their love for each other in the beginning. There is a knife in between Othello and Desdemona. This might be a representation of their fate (Othello smothering Desdemona in her sleep because he thought she was unfaithful) 
-The background of the poster is red, similar to the shade of blood. This might be associated with violence of the plot that Othello is based upon. Both figures possess a different object on them. In Othello's case, he has a strawberry designed handkerchief wrapped around he eyes whilst Iago has a snake coming out of his mouth. Iago is making a whispering motion to Othello (covering his mouth with a snake coming out). 
-The snake that Iago whispers out represents the deception of lies that he tricks him into thinking (making him think that Desdemona is unfaithful). The handkerchief covering Othello's eyes shows that he is blinded by Iago's lies, falling into his deception, not knowing the truth about the situation. 
-The color of the handkerchief and the snake stands out the most in the poster as it provides the message of the play. In the following promotional posters for "Othello" from Masterpiece Theatre and Teatro Da Renasenca, visual devices are used to illustrate Iago as the antagonist, though his methods of deception and it's effects on characters in each poster differ through their respective utilization of colors, composition, and symbolism.

In the Othello posters produced by Masterpiece Theatre and Teatro Da Renascença, both works allude to themes of deception and jealousy using symbols correlated with the story plot and characters; however, through the varying compositions, use of color, and depiction of figures, Masterpiece Theatre highlighted the concept of manipulation, whereas Teatro Da Renascença strongly conveyed power. ]

While Both, Masterpiece Theater (B) and Teatro Da Renascena Apresenta (A) depict the fragility of Othello and Desdemona relationship; however,  Poster A highlights themes of racial prejudice that separates Othello from Desdemona, while Poster B depicts Iagos use of deceit to make Othello questions Desdemona's fidelity which ultimately separates the two.
