I plan to use this degree to work in district leadership, focusing on disproportionality in special education and ways to close those gaps. Eventually, I would like to work as the superintendent. My former roles include dean of students, student success facilitator, MTSS tier 3 interventions and restorative practices teacher, and special education teacher. With this being my last semester for academic coursework before doing my dissertation, I had the flexibility to choose from several courses. This one stood out to me because it is relevant in my career aspirations. I took this class to enhance my skills in educational technology.

My name is Jennifer Ray, and I live in Northport, AL. I have been happily married for 29 years, and I am blessed with three children, two wonderful bonus children, and two beautiful granddaughters whom I absolutely adore. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a degree from the Multiple Abilities Program and have spent the past 20 years teaching both special and general education. Currently, I am a special education teacher. Over the course of my career, I have witnessed the incredible shift from classrooms with no technology to ones that are fully immersed in it. I am excited to be taking this course as part of my master’s program to deepen my understanding of how technology can benefit my students. I look forward to learning innovative ways to integrate technology into my classroom to better meet the diverse needs of my learners.
