Throughout this project i learned a lot about ADD/ADHD. More specifically, How it affects learning capabilities, and how to effectively deal with it. ADHD can severely hinder a child's ability to learn and succeed in and out of the classroom. Children may show symptoms such as acting on impulse, jumping from one topic or activity to another, fidgeting or moving around, and inability to bond or create many friendships. Children are also often disorganized, lose things and don't consider the consequences before they act.

With add/adhd, homework can be a huge struggle. Children may avoid it, and as a parent you should expect a fair amount of procrastination. Professionals have gathered some tips which have proven to be successful in aiding children complete tasks more efficiently. These include setting up a “Homework only area” with few distractions. Help create a system of colorful folders and notebooks to maintain good organizational skills. Allow for breaks during homework or study sessions. Be patient, once you can see your child is done with homework for the night, they need to stop. If all of their work is not completed then a note should be written to the teacher for the following day.

Going through the school system with ADHD myself i can say most of these symptoms and issues are real. It makes completing homework, paying close attention and many other seemingly easy tasks very difficult.
