The book tells about all the fun things about fall and what there is to do and also the changes in the weather. The book also talks about the animals that are effected by the cold weather. This picture book is great for students in second and third grade, as just a intro in the Fall season. The pictures are great in it and really show the colors of the season. With this book being a fold out book it will be able to grab the students attention.

By: Karen Kingsbury
Publication: 3/2014
Read: 8/26/2017

This is a lovely book all about the future and showing children that they can be whatever they want to be in life. This book encourages children to go after whatever dream they have for the future. This book is great for all ages because it encourages the students to always go after their dreams and to be excited for the future. This book also talks about how important it is not to tear down other peoples goals in life.

The story is about how you should try to help the people around you and to never give up on someone. Also just because someone might be mean to you does not always mean that they do not like you. This story is good to read to kindergarten through third grade to teach students to always be nice. This is great to teach students to always try your best and to never give up just because one thing you do does not work out.

Author: Ashley Brown
Read: 8/31/2017
*Hot new book
*John Newbery Medal

This book is about slaves and individual stores from the slaves. The individual stories are about what their jobs were and they give insight on the individuals. I would read this book to fifth graders, because it talks about how they felt having to do these jobs and live the life they did. I would use this book to open students eyes to they way things used to be and how people felt.

Author: James Weldon Johnson
Read: 8/31
*Coretta Scott king Award

The Creation is about God creating the world and why he created what he did. The book discusses how he created the world and what his reasoning was. I would read this book to students if I thought at a church school, because it is about God. The lesson I would teach from this book is the different writing style used in this book and how most modern book are wrote completely different now. This book is based off story telling and how the story teller talks, but today we write using proper English no matter who is talking.
