Poster 3 is the most effective as it uses the Semitic modes of spatial and visual.The usage of large bolded words for example “scam alert” and “never give ” adds emphasis on the importance of identifying scam calls and preventing readers of the poster from falling for those scams .This gives readers the impression that scam calls occur often and and that they need to be careful and take precautionary steps to avoid being a victim of scams. The visuals of an IPhone showing the call history of a person and that it is by the “government”. This is an effective use of visuals as readers can now identify scam calls better as they have a reference from what is real and fake. However poster 1 and 2 may not be as effective as the poster 2 have smaller words which is harder o read and poster 1 does not have ample amount of information

We personally think that poster 2 is the most effective as it provides personal experiences which engages readers to learn from the Danny Yeo mistake and encounter the same situation. The big font used is also special and eye catching as it can attract others

We think poster 1 is effective. It uses Images of phones with scam numbers like “ +65 8123 XXXX”. This allows viewers to know what kind of numbers to avoided to prevent themselves from getting scammed. The image also teaches viewers to not fall for scams even if it looks legitimate. This is because, the image of the phone has a profile picture that might seem like a real organisation to some people. However, poster 2 and 3 are not effective as it does not explain to viewers how scams are like and it is not obvious an easy to view. Therefor, poster 1 is the most effective.

It makes the readers get attracted to the poster and read it. Furthermore, the words are short and catchy, for example, the words “spot the signs, stop the crimes” are catchy which can translate the message and purpose of the poster to its audience. Therefore, poster 1 is effective.

Poster 1 is the most effective because of its catchy slogans. It is effective as there are pictures which helps readers visualise what the poster is trying to convey. Which in this case is spotting scam calls. Poster 1 is clear with their message and get to the point. Making it simple and clear for readers to learn and read. Rather then poster 2 which have small font size and long sentences. This makes it hard for the readers to read what the poster is trying to say as it is not catchy like poster 3 and there is a long paragraph of words to read.

The purpose of the poster is to warn residents about scammers and showing them about the signs of a scam or a scam caller.
Poster 1 uses a example to give a clear understanding of what a scam call would look like. The photo shows random phone numbers that has a “+” and in the poster it says that if there is a “+” in the phone number it could be scam.Poster 1 is also more effective as it gives the residents a website to help them learn more about scams. To add on, they added a phrase “spot the signs, Stop the crimes”. It is a catchy phrase which makes residents responsible to spot the signs of a crime and scams.
Therefore, poster 1 is the most effective out of all three posters

I feel that the 2nd poster is the most effective as it uses real peoples opinions and their methods of preventing scams. Emboldened letters draw readers’ attention to the text and can be seen from far away. Additionally, the elderly are able to read with ease.

- Visual
The pictures serves as examples of scam call numbers. With the heading being “if it’s a + number”, the pictures makes the readers remember more about this point because there is the picture of + numbers. This allows readers to better recognise signs of a scam caller, as examples are shown of what the fake numbers make look like on their phone screens.

Poster 1 is the most effective because it uses attractive hooks for the headings. For example “IT COULD BE A SCAM” effectively warns readers about the dangers of fake calls and scammers.

It also uses the space of the poster effectively like “IT COULD BE A SCAM” and “IF IT’S A “+” NUMBER” specifically bolded and put to a big size to draw the attention of readers to the big texts which makes readers feel like it is very important to take note of what the poster is trying to say.

The pictures of phones that all have “+” numbers on them helps readers to understand how can “+” numbers look like and effectively let readers be more aware and cautious in the future whenever they receive a call from a “+” number. Like how my father had received a call from a well known bank called “DBS” bank and he was told that his credit card needed renewing and asked for his credit card information, he asked me about it not knowing that it definitely is a scam, therefore posters like this will effectively help people to understand the dangers of fake calls that are only out for their pockets.

Purpose: To inform people to beware of scams

The 3rd Poster is the most effective due to it efficiently utilising simple words and enlarging them to immediately tell people the main message of the poster.

They also used effectively used an image showing a scam message which gives the reader an example of wat they should look out for.

The way they used their spacing to separate their paragraphs allow the reader to get the intended message more easily. It also helps the reader to understand which point is different than the others.

I think that poster 1 is more effective in informing citizens ways to identify scams. This can be seen from the effective use of bolded words. The bold words makes it eye-catching and easy to read. The words are able to make an impression on us which makes it easier to remember. Unlike poster 2 which contains small words and seeing the poster from afar only gives us an impression of a man. Which is not effective in protecting us against scams.
