Residential homes offer activities to stimulate psychological and physical needs, this will help residents avoid conforming to the social norms i.e. older people playing the 'role' of being frail and inactive. The more people that join in on activities, the more likely others are too, as people tend to want to conform to the majority of people.

This may be different for children with learning disabilities such as autism or Down syndrome, an all inclusive and non discriminative environmental Will allow every child to develop as it means they can get the support that they need. Other biological factors such as aggression can cause problems in the classroom, positive reinforcement and emotional support can help children overcome this as it gives them the opportunity to vent their aggression in a health way rather than physically.
